Hi does any use Dior skincare? Capture totale or prestige ? What do you think of it etc , I got some samples of capture totale serum etc I like it but given me a few spots but I’ve been told this is normal as it’s new to my skin and will pass if I stick to it.
I have read online the prestige range is even better alot more £ though so wanted everyone’s thoughts . I really want to stick with the brand Dior as I am a loyalty member so get rewards for purchase etc
many thanks

I don't use Dior skincare sorry. But I wondered what your skin type is, and what your are looking for it to do? I'm generally not a fan of super expensive skincare brands, because you are paying for the brand name, and not necessarily great ingredients.

Quite honestly, if you are looking for skincare that will actually do something i.e. brighten your skin, improve texture and improve the look of fine lines etc. then you need ingredients like retinol, vitamin c and hydroxy acid. These can be found in lots of different brands at different price points.

If you really want to stick to Dior, have a look at the ingredient list and see what the active ingredients are. Otherwise you are just paying for the name.

I’ve tried it in the past but was unimpressed. I thought that it was very overrated and expensive for what it was. Their perfume and lippies are good, the skincare not so much.

I’m unconvinced by the ‘stick with it even though it gives you spots’ rationale. Who told you that, the Dior salesgirl?

I'm just copy and pasting something I wrote from another thread, for more information about good skincare ingredients:

Vitamin C serum (with the active ingredient L-ascorbic acid) gives a nice brightening effect to the skin, and over time it can lessen hyperpigmentation. It's also an anti-oxidant that has protective benefits against UV damage.
AHA/BHA - these are hydroxy acids, which give an exfoliating effect when used on the skin, and removes some of the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin - but can be quite harsh so use sparingly.
Retinoids - there are several types of retinoids (retinol is the one you will find in over the counter products, there is also retinaldehyde which is slightly stronger, and the tretinoin which is a much stronger version but not available OTC). These work by increasing collagen production and increasing cell turnover in the skin (both of which decline as we age).

If you really want a dramatic difference in your skin, I would recommend skipping over the counter retinols and just going for prescription strength tretinoin. However, it is pretty strong stuff which was be quite irritating when first used so you can't get it over the counter. You would need to go to a dermatologist to get a prescription. OR if you are in the UK you can get a subscription service like Dermatica/ Skin & Me. Or, if you are not in the UK (I'm not), you can get it from some online pharmacies. I would highly recommend doing your research before starting to use any tretinoin, as it is a long term thing, but it is the best 'anti ageing' ingredient out there.

Also, make sure you use high SPF sunscreen everyday to prevent sun damage.
