Neom The Ultimate Surprise Box

Neom have launched a ‘mystery box’ for £65. They say it’s worth £152. I love their products, but am not keen on the surprise element. I don’t want lots of sleep spray and can’t afford to waste money these days (who can).

This is the description Neon off “The Mystery Box is home to 7 amazing NEOM products including 5 full-size! That's 7 products to help you sleep, de-stress, get more energy, and boost your mood. Oh and for your home, body & skin too. We've got all bases covered”.

Wondering if anyone has it and can tell me what’s in it?

@MrsPicklesonSmythe Hopefully they will send you something else to make up for the shortfall! That is pretty poor that is doesn't add up to the £152 or contain the five full sized items as advertised.

Maybe my analysis of the facebook revealed box was right at £147 and they are routinely not meeting the full £152.

I would be interested in their response too - hope they sort it out well for you.

BonnesVacances · 29/10/2022 13:47

Mine arrived today. I got:

Bath foam £23
Bedtime mist £20
Hand balm £21
3 wick candle £48
Sleep wonder balm £16
Body cleanser £8
Overnight facial cream £12

No samples

Total comes to £148

I'll email them to just point out that it didn't meet the value advertised. See what they say.

BonnesVacances · 31/10/2022 13:12

So according to Neom, the gift box is included which is worth £5. Hmm
Which indeed does take the value of the surprise box to £152.

VisitingThem · 31/10/2022 13:18

Yeah someones thinking on the fly there...

MrsPicklesonSmythe · 31/10/2022 15:03

Well let's just say I'm mightily unimpressed with the response so far, I'll give them a chance to do better before I update.

AnnieSnap · 31/10/2022 18:35

Seriously @BonnesVacances the box is valued at £5? What a bloody cheek!

Yes, as it's a large one. Hmm Seems tight to include it in the value, but there you go!

Though I guess if I was giving the whole box away it would be a nice thing to have. I've vowed to reuse it anyway.

PomRuns · 01/11/2022 11:00

Very miserable to include the box cost.
There is a new offer which looks quite good - ‘night in with neom’ £65

LookItsMeAgain · 04/11/2022 16:41

If the price of the box is a £5 I'd be tempted to contact them and ask how much the 'Ultimate Surprise" is without the box and can you order it without the box? If they are charging for a box, you should be able to reject it at the time of ordering surely? They should be able to dispatch everything else in bubble wrap and in a padded envelope or a brown cardboard box. To charge for the box is just wrong (imo).

LookItsMeAgain · 04/11/2022 17:02

I've just been on to their chat and yes, they are charging £5 for the box.

It's their 'gift wrapping' and no matter what way I tried to explain it to the agent at the other end of the chat, they weren't for budging on how they were charging for the box, even when they post on their site that the items come to £160 (they don't they come to £155) and even if you're making a saving on the products, you still have to get the box at £5!

It's a strange way to do things. I think I might stick to the Boots Advent Calendar or the M&S beauty calendar instead. They seem to be able to include the box for free 😆

That's why I don't like mystery boxes. Aren't the contents good enough to tell people what they are?

The whole idea of 'mystery boxes' is just consumerism gone nuts really. Not only are we now spending tonnes of money on stuff we want but don't need, we are now spending tonnes of money on stuff we don't even know if we want!

BedTaker · 04/11/2022 17:50

But then I suppose the same can be said for advent calendars as well.

BonnesVacances · 04/11/2022 17:53

I'd have preferred the option to pay for a couple of smaller gift boxes so I could split the contents for presents. As it is I have a big box that would look daft with a couple of items in it.
