Under eye area looking awful! Please suggest something that's not botox!

Hi,

So it's really starting to get me down. I'm late 30's and generally think my skin looks OK. I do take care of it with serums, spf etc - have also started taking collagen, but my under eyes are really starting to age me. I feel a bit like a skeleton, as I have big eyes and big hollows, which are also quite puffy (odd combination!) and dark circles to boot.

Tried a retinol eye cream, but it really stung and I think made the issue worse! Was considering the ANR eye cream, but it's so expensive!

Any ideas?

TIA

Do you keep hydrated?
You need to be aiming for 3 litres of water a day.

Pootles34 · 20/10/2022 13:00

Dark circles, I have a new concealer brush from beauty pie which has made all the difference to concealing them. I use it with a liquid concealer, which I've found isn't as cakey now I'm getting on a bit...

Liposmose - Biologique Recherche totally sorted my under eye bags- there were not too bad mind you but I am closer to late 40's
You only need the 8 mil option as it lasts forever

Ponks · 20/10/2022 13:13

The Ordinary caffeine eye serum is good for puffiness, the Inkey list do something similar. In my experience not much can be done for hollows unless you're willing to have fillers injected (I'm not).
ANR is lovely for a bit of soothing and plumping but yes very expensive and it doesn't do anything permanent. Boots No7 do something a bit similar in terms of the plumping effect, line correcting booster serum.
But I've tried many many eye creams ti try to deal with hollows and wrinkles and really nothing has worked.

this completely removes my undereye bags

Iamblossom · 20/10/2022 13:15

caveat - you can't wear it over any kind of moisturiser or make up or put make up over it

I also use this, but I do use make up over it (just don't use anything oil based).

Make sure to shake it really well otherwise it goes white and powdery. Also worth noting, it lasts a few hours - it is in no way a permanent fix!

Iamblossom · 20/10/2022 13:21

@HopScotchBump ah that's good to know.

And yes, I take a small blob and rub it around on the back of my hand before applying to disperse the grainy crystals

Tear trough fillers?

I've never had them but a few friends have had amazing results. Google before and after pics.

Soozikinzii · 20/10/2022 13:24

Have you considered HIFU ipl treatment it's just a laser treatment the one they use to remove hair but they target to the layer below the skin? I rate it anyway !

Lemoncellohello · 20/10/2022 13:25

Thanks for your suggestions so far.

@WhatIsThisPlease I really don't want to go down that road. I hear this in particular, is quite a risky procedure.

@Ponks I've tried the Ordinary serum, but it does nothing for me! I actually tried it again this morning after getting desperate, but nope.

Giving this another bump. A bad nights sleep has emphasised the issue this morning 😒

Puffiness and dark circles, have you had your iron and thyroid levels tested ?
Also sleep quality can be a factor. I am hollow/puffy/dark circled this morning as I had a late night, not great sleep, and woke up with a headache.

Lemoncellohello · 21/10/2022 11:53

@MrJi Yes, I'm iron deficient....but still classed as within "normal range". Not sure how "deficient" and "normal" come in the same category 🤔 I'm taking supplements but can't seem to get out the deficient zone, so I know this is certainly a contributing factor. Sleep also 😕

Tear trough fillers done by an ophthalmic surgeon - I had that & it's lasted about 3 years

OriginalUsername2 · 21/10/2022 12:41

Can we just normalise ageing? The more women get fillers, the harder we all have to work to look like we’re not dead!

chipsandpeas · 21/10/2022 12:45

it can just be genetic and nothing will get rid of them unless you go down the filler route or cover up with make up

I had the same and mine lasted a similar amount of time. Agree it's best to have them done by an ophthalmic surgeon. They made a huge difference and I don't think it's hugely risky.

@Tadpoll
Think this would work for me because I would spend so long in the loo, no one would see my bags 😂

Where do you buy it from in 8ml? I can only find 30ml for £107 😱
