Hi all!

Just had my little girl and my skin is so so dry! With it coming into winter I'm wanting to update my skincare routine with some vitamin c hydrating products.. any suggestions would be great x

The BeautyPie vitamin C is quite nice. For hydration a hyaluronic acid serum is great followed by a basic but rich moisturiser to seal everything in. I like the LRP Nutritic Intense Roche moisturiser which is really thick.

I use Lancôme Nutrix. Once I had to leave it at airport scan because the tube is bigger than 100g (expensive mistake) , so I ended up buying the Nivea Blue tin once I reached destination, and I was pleasantly surprised. Actually, whenever my skin is slightly sensitive , it is my go to cream. Oh great on legs in winter. Takes some time and effort to rub in, but perfect for dry legs!!

Not vit c but I love shea butter with a thin layer of vaseline or squalene oil. Hydration dream team for me

KangarooKenny · 16/10/2022 21:53

Not vit C, but I love Liz Earle Superskin for winter. Not cheap, but it does the job.

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 16/10/2022 22:11

Vit c products I like are Oskia capsules and medik8 - both morning serums

@MrsTuxedo

Yes I do like Nivea occasionally. Whenever I am too lazy to look for another cleanser/moisturiser I always seem to put my hand on Nivea. Last night I sat up in bed and reached for it to cleanse my face and eyes. Brilliant stuff as is Astral (which I think is a bit lighter).

My absolute favourite moisturiser for dry skin is Lumene Arctic Hydra Care. It's such good quality for the price. I also like Sunday Riley ICE and Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream but they are too £££ for me these days. Great products though.

tealandteal · 20/10/2022 14:27

I love everything I have bought from Face Theory, I have a lovely vitamin C cleanser and moisturiser.

Cashelmara · 20/10/2022 14:44

I have very dry skin and this time of year I switch to Weleda Skin Food. It's brilliant stuff and not expensive.

Vichy Nutrilogie is my fave. It comes in 2 versions, '1' for dry skin and '2' for very dry. Unperfumed, too!
I'm using it by day over the Revolution 12% vitamin C serum.

At night I'm on The Ordinary retinol serum with Cetaphil Rich Night Cream on top. It's nice and rich and also unscented.

All of the above are around a tenner each, except the Vichy which is still under £20 and worth shopping around for an offer.

Rude AF.

Aldi’s Lacura range suits my skin better than anything else I’ve used, and I’ve tried a LOT of moisturisers.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 20/10/2022 21:55

I’ve tried many expensive creams (just finished Augustinus Bader at over £200) but my two favourites are Aldi Lacura and Cetaphil moisturising cream. Both well under a tenner.

poundthealarm · 20/10/2022 22:11

I've recently started using cosrx advanced snail essence and cream that's really fixed my dry skin. I've o my been using them together for a week but the improvement was almost immediate and they weren't too expensive.
They have slotted into my skincare routine effortlessly

Deathraystare · 21/10/2022 12:27

@JackieDaws

Yes well, if you had read my remark properly you will see I had already owned up to being lazy!!

Besides, my one room I live in is tiny so no room for a vanity unit etc etc. However, I have always done it this way unless I use a face wash. There is something comforting about sitting up in bed with my big cushion supporting me (cos my bed is iron) doing my nightly routine. Anyway, the bathroom is not the sort of place to linger ....

I live alone (though there is a flat mate) so I really don't think I am affecting him or you for that matter.

Metabigot · 21/10/2022 17:18

I'm loving drunk elephant lala retro whipped cream moisturiser.

Georgesgrumpymedicine · 21/10/2022 18:25

I've just started using the boots N07 retinol night cream. It's very good, rich but not too rich. I also like that it includes a mild retinol so I don't need an extra serum.
