Labret earrings in lobe piercings

Does anyone have any tips for inserting labret studs into normal lobe piercings? I've just bought some beautiful studs from Laura Bond and I can't put them in my ears! The holes were done years ago with a gun and they just don't seem big enough for the new earrings. Is there a trick to it, or do they only work if the holes were pierced with this type of earrings?

My lobes were pierced when I was a teenager (so over 40 years) . My DD has some flatback studs from when she had a cartilidge done .(now removed and healed shut)
Titanium so ££

No way would these fit and I'm wincing at the thought of trying to make them <ouch>

You might need narrower stems on the earrings
A lot of mainstream earrings have very narrow stems whereas the ones used for piercings are thicker.

I've managed to get labret piercings into my done with a gun lobe piercing holes but it took a lot of patience and basically stretching the piercings slowly. I started with a quite heavy pair of normal earrings with a hook rather than studs, then added studs as well so two earrings in each piercing. When that stopped being sore I could put a small labret in but again was tender for a while. Had to be done fresh out of a long hot shower and tbh I wouldn't do it again.

No lasting damage as my ears weren't tapered by much at all and I can wear ordinary studs again now, but it definitely hurt and I wouldn't do it again

Get an insertion pin. They are tapered so make it much easier to put labrets in. I used one recently to get a labret into a second lobe piercing that I hadn't used for about 10 years. Worked a treat.

My three upper lobe piercings were pierced with a labret, no way I would get them through my original lobe piercing, and I am not sure I would want to as I dont always wear earrings in that hole and I don't want it too stretched

This sounds like a good idea, thank you!

Do you always wear labrets in those holes then, or do they stay bigger even if you take the labrets out? I was thinking about getting one last piercing for my new earrings but it would be right at the top of my love, so not sure I want a big hole there!

I always wear labret, they are the sort of pericings I wear the same earrings in constantly and rarely swap then out. where ad my first lobe piercings I want to be more flexible with

It's just what suits me of course

I had flesh tunnels as a teen and - quite frankly - the only way is to ease the holes out gently. Lots of Vaseline. Salt water to cleanse afterwards. It's basically an almost-new piercing.

Or just get some earrings that fit the holes already. The above approach is not for everyone!
