Tights give me chub rub help

When I wear trousers/leggings or even go bare legged my thighs don’t rub together but they do when I wear tights? It’s so painful but why when I wear tights? I’ve noticed it since I’ve had a baby I didn’t have this issue before, I clearly need to lose the baby weight but what can I do in the meantime as it’s getting colder and need tights?

Is it the material in the tights? Some tights irritate my thighs and I think it's the material.
Weirdly the most comfortable are Primark.

Is the gusset falling down so that the "chub rub" is not from the tights but the seam of the gusset? This is a problem for me and for DD as well (we are both a little "round" so I assume it's got to do with body shape?)

The solution is to wear a second pair of panties over the top of your tights to keep the gusset where it's supposed to be.

Yeah the tights are falling again around that area so that particular part of my leg is exposed I guess. I feel so grim

Snag tights.

Snag tights are supposed to be great.

I also go for knickers over the top.

SpanishSteps123Ole · 14/10/2022 18:33

Get the next size up in tights so if you wear L get XL and choose the velvety ones in 100 dernier or higher. The ones that feel flimsy and rough at 40 and 80 dernier are rubbish IMO. Primark tights are really good, costs £5 I think.
I think the chub happens because tights material make you sweaty and restrict your movement so sweat and rubbing leads to chub rub.

Soducream helps the soreness. There are products specifically for chub rub. I think talcum, arrowroot powder or cornstarch also help.

Try M&S seam free tights. The top is knitted like a tube and a "proper sized" cotton gusset.

Cakeandslippers · 14/10/2022 19:28

Knickers over the top of tights or snag tights.

These 2 things work perfectly for me.

Prawnandcrocktail · 14/10/2022 19:37

Snags- total gamechanger. They are as good as everyone says they are! I have pairs from 2018 that are still perfect. They don’t do the concertina blind effect, no gusset round your knees and no hoiking them up all day!

BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ · 14/10/2022 21:21

As others have said, it's the seam. I've got very long legs- I'm not especially giant-tall at 5ft 8 but I have 40 inch inside legs, look like an absolute freak naked- and suffered from this all my life until Snag tights became a thing. They're more expensive than high street tights, but they're well made... I've got pairs going into their fourth winter this year. Once you go Snag you won't go back!

Knickers, tights, knickers
The best way to stop tights falling down

StarlightLady · 15/10/2022 08:36

Sorry to the double knickers brigade, but 3 layers round my crotch would be just unthinkable.

tulips27 · 15/10/2022 08:38

Tights just seem to be made with short legs and it's really, really annoying! I'm not even tall! I don't know what tall people do.

raffle · 15/10/2022 13:00

I got my first pair of snag tights last week, they are so so good! No exaggeration, they don't slip down, or require hoiking up, they just stay out and are really comfy.

I'm a convert!

Whatissleep1 · 15/10/2022 14:03

you’ve all convinced me now, I’m going to order some snag tights and see how they go!
