Black wide leg trousers. Not polyester

Is it possible to buy black wide leg trousers that are not 60-70% polyester? I've checked Next and M&S. Too much polyester, I hate it in trousers.
I'd spend around £40. Petite would be a bonus.

Thanks

Do you have a sewing machine, op? An overlocker/coverstitch as well is even better. It's really quite simple to make 100% wool perfectly fitting trousers.

Konfetka · 13/10/2022 17:08

And fabric/notions will come in at way less than £40.

Queenmargery · 13/10/2022 17:21

Thanks @Konfetka . I'm quite good at crafty things but no sewing machine at the moment.
Also I'd like the trousers for an occasion next week so not much time.

If you don’t want artificial fabric you have to increase your budget @Queenmargery

£40 is very small for what you want.
How about these Seamstress of bloomsbury

I don't mind viscose or a mix but I think a high percentage of polyester makes for terrible trousers.

I need cheap polyester trousers, they're much more durable than wool which I shred between the thighs in a very few wears.

M&S high waist wide legs were ok...

Queenmargery · 13/10/2022 20:04

@randomsabreuse Do you not find them really uncomfortable? I'm not a particularly sweaty person but high polyester content makes my legs feel awful. Not to mention the static shocks.

@Queenmargery tbh they're no worse than tights/shorts under a dress for me but I am biased against delicate wool trousers and tolerate the slight static issue. Didn't have noticeable static with the current M&S ones but cheaper ones have lasted much better

Bit over budget but 98% cotton and come in petite/short fitting I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/fatface-paige-cord-wide-leg-trousers/black/p6341467?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappios&size=16s&&_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

More than £40, but as previous poster said, natural fabrics are more expensive.
Seasalt quality is usually pretty good.

Roman Originals viscose mix. I bought some straight leg black trousers from here recently, via Next, and they weren't amazing but a much better cut and fabric than Next own brand.

I think if you want natural fabric trousers, you would have to look somewhere like Cos or Arket. But they would cost more than £40.00.
To be honest M&S wide leg pants are smashing it this year. The heavy weight ones with a seam down the front are brilliant, sturdy & they hang well. I'm the biggest fan of natural fabrics, but in Winter, I'm also a fan of non-iron heavy weight ones.
