Things you don’t wear with a big bust

Madagascary · 13/10/2022 09:27

I’ve just booked to have a reduction in 40 days time, not that I’m counting, and I’ve just realised all the millions of things I’ll be able to wear from there on in.

Sweatshirts with slogans across the tits, normal men’s style shirts that are close fitting on the chest, anything with detail on the bust. Tank tops in the summer. Supermarket bikinis.

it’s strange how you subconsciously don’t choose stuff because of the bust issue

For me I'd just love to be able to pick up a cheap or high street bra, and wear a normal swimming costume.
I'd love a reduction Sad

Madagascary · 13/10/2022 16:55

Thought of another one, coat that I like dressing gowns honestly anything belted.

Yes, I just swooned around Marks & Spencer actually buying a post surgery bra but excited at all the little C cup ones

All the above plus cowl neck and crew neck tops. I look like a ship in full sail.

WhoppingBigBackside · 13/10/2022 18:38

Thanks @Madagascary , I appreciate that my boobs aren't particularly big, but I developed a bust quite early, and all the comments I've had over the years made me self-concious. The weightloss was not intentional - it was a heartbreak diet, and I didn't put much of the weight back on.

I also have been told a few times that I have a fat arse, but I know I don't, so it never affected me.

With boobs it's different. We're 'supposed' to have perfect perky boobs that are the 'right' shape and not need to wear a bra (noticed how many clothing firms show braless models?)

I can remember early boyfriends saying things like 'I'll need bigger hands' and 'maybe if you went to the gym your tits wouldn't be saggy', which didn't help.

@KnickerlessParsons

I'm having mine done in a private hospital in Hertfordshire I've meet the surgeon.

It's 7k.

3 of my family have had it (mum and 2 cousins) and said it was the best money they ever spent.

That's not bad actually. I'm going to talk to DH.

Madagascary · 13/10/2022 19:46

I was quoted 7 1/2. With liposuction it goes up to just under nine

A word of warning.

I had one in 2013 and went from a 32GG to a 32D. The bastards grew back. Mainly menopause /HRT i think. I still weigh the same & have a 28" waist. £7,000.

whenwillthemadnessend · 13/10/2022 20:30

I'd say that's fairly rare tho. Most people I know have only increase a little from the op. I sorry you had that experience

BamBamBilla · 13/10/2022 20:32

Not convinced all these can't wear rules are related to bust size but it's more to do with bust shape. A bust that is full, round and close set is totally different to teardrop, wide set and longer.

Im 34HH and crew necks, polo necks, slogan sweatshirts, ribbed tops, vest tops, hoodies, boxy jumpers, horizontal stripes are all my staple items and I absolutely do not look matronly nor that dreaded word of frumpy.

LadyAstor · 13/10/2022 20:37

I was fine up to last year then 'BOOM!'

Thighdentitycrisis · 13/10/2022 20:38

I’m a 30G but might be a 32FF, I’ve gone through menopause and I can’t wear high waisted anything because there is very little space between my bust and my waist

LadyAstor · 13/10/2022 22:43

Im the same - very high waisted but my bust is lower now. I had 500grams removed from each (3lbs).

Lookingoutside · 14/10/2022 00:44

Cheaper bras and backless/cutout dresses and tops. So many things don’t work if you want to wear a bra.

SwordToFlamethrower · 14/10/2022 00:45

Wired bras. Or bras in general if I can ever help it

@BamBamBilla I'm with you. I love having big boobs. The only thing that I really don't like the look of on me is crew neck t shirts but my dh absolutely loves it when I wear his crew neck t shirts.... he is very much a boobs guy though!

Good luck with your operation, op. Please report back on your results and new wardrobe choices and freedom :)

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/10/2022 06:47

Good luck with the op.

My wide set tear drops aren't too bad in halternecks, hoodies and slogans but I need to avoid tight tops, low cut scoop necks and ruffles.

SpanishSteps123Ole · 14/10/2022 06:56

I find if you wear different bras it can help expand what you 'can' wear. Minimiser for some outfits, push up for others and so on. Some bras give me so much forward projection and lifts them up to my chin, others flatten them which is good for some outfits... necklaces, scarves and blazers can also disguise. I have sometimes worn 2 bras at the same time. 🙃

Madagascary · 14/10/2022 07:25

Totally agree. Bras for different outfits
But Jesus it’s a ball ache

Empire line anything

JanetandJohn500 · 14/10/2022 20:49

Best thing I've ever done I've actually just been looking at old photos of me and I'm horrified at how big they were before.

Madagascary · 18/10/2022 11:39

I’m looking through all the winter fashion excitedly.

If I win the lotto (doesn't even need to be much, just enough) I'm definitely getting a breast reduction (even if my DH is a boob-man) and getting the muffin top that I developed after having a c-section sorted out at the same time.

When you talk about liposuction at the same time is that to bring your overall physique in line with the new look so the lipo would be on your tummy or is there another type of lipo that I might need to investigate?
