Where to buy jeans that fit properly

I have just been out shopping for jeans and am having a terrible time finding jeans that fit properly. I'm pear shaped, short and a size 18 in trousers. My problem is that jeans either fit in the thighs and bum and are too loose around the waist or are too tight there and fit my waist. Anyone have any good brand recommendations?

I also never tumble dry jeans. Apparently it destroys the elastane and leads to them becoming baggy. Who knows . . .

What's the sizing like on the M&S magic jeans? I'm a 12-14 on bottom and not sure which size to try

I adjust all jeans. Usually take in the waistband and have to shorten them. I think it's hard to find the perfect pair off the rack but you can make them much better.

Go smaller as I find them on the generous side.
