Do you cut your own hair?

I’ve got wavy thick hair that is just past my shoulders. I’m starting to wonder if it plausible that I can avoid spending £500 per year getting it cut. One thing that annoys me is that my son can walk into a barbers and get an intricate skin fade done for £15 whilst I have to pay £50 to have a few ends cut off. If anyone is cutting their own hair; support and guidance please! Or, is it a totally no-go? FWIW, I do not like the polished just walked out of a salon/high maintenance expensive look. I would embrace a punky edgy look if i could find the confidence and knew how to achieve it. Thanks!!

No it wouldn’t be easy to cut your hair into a style like the one In the picture. I think even a hairdresser would find that hard to do on themselves. There are too many layers for a start and it’s quite short at the back.

Would it be easy to cut this yourself?

No!!

why not try a super cuts or similar which is half the price of a salon or even your mobile hairdresser and will probably be ok for a trim?

you can't get a good style like that cutting yourself though.

Google the unicorn cut. The pic you show is of straight hair and that would be trickier to achieve, but you could google for whether people are achieving that with home hair cut techniques.

I cut my own hair, I have straight long hair with a few front layers, i just watch some tutorial on youtube, take your time, taking very little off at a time until you get used to it.

I don't do my own, my Mum normally does it but during lockdown DH started doing it.

It is long and one length so fairly straightforward..
