Aviators as eyeglasses?

I was inspired by another thread on here and have decided to finally stop procrastinating and get some new glasses as my current pair has seen better days.

Looking into getting a pair of Ray Ban aviators, specifically these ones:

Does anyone know if they're durable? The metal especially on the nose bridge looks pretty thin so I'm a little worried. I wear my glasses almost every waking moment and would prefer if they don't snap after 2 months of regular wear!

I don’t think I could wear them after the current obsession with the Dahmer thing on Netflix and his trademark aviators. Apparently someone is trying to sell the read ones from JD himself on eBay for about £150k 😳 They just remind me of those. But that’s just me!

I wear Randolph Engineering aviators as eyeglasses (terrible pix attached).
They're military spec & all metal fixtures & fittings.
They're American made & you can get the frames without lenses (they're sunglasses originally but also available as spectacles).
I don't have any experience of Ray Bans but I don't think they are built to the same military specifications.

I have had a pair of RayBan aviators for 11 years now. Still going strong - had no issues!

My prescription is +2.5 if that makes a difference. Regarding the JD glasses, I haven't heard of it but I think the shape is different enough that I don't see the connection! The ones I linked are more Top Gun-esuqe I think.

I've looked into Randolph Engineering and have heard great things about the quality. Trouble is my local optometrist shop have only got Ray-Bans in that style...

@MakeTheWholeWideWorldGoAway
I have 2 pairs of Randolph sunglasses & I bought these frames from eBay as sunglasses, took them to my opticians and they swapped the dark lenses for spectacle lenses in my prescription.
The quality is good, the fit is comfortable, I really like them.
There's an optometrist near Liverpool Street in London who is also a Randolph importer. I can't recall the name of it now but Google might be able to help...
