Numbing cream for lip filler

Hi all! Can I ask... does numbing cream on the lips really help with pain for lip filler injections? I would like to try for the first time - I've got super thin lips and feel insecure / want to wear lipstick and feel more feminine but my fear of the pain has got in the way. Any advice please!

No it doesn't. If you must, go somewhere which includes a local anaesthetic in with the filler and uses a cannula, not a needle. Filling thin lips in tricky and over-filling common which ends up with filler migrating to above the lip line and that trout-pout look. Awful! Don't go anywhere cheap, or with special offers/loyalty programmes. They're likely to be unethical. Only go to a doctor or a dentist.

It works for me, but it needs to be left on for at least 20 mins, and then the filler put in within 2 mins of it coming off, otherwise I find the sensation returns quickly.

Emla cream is very good for numbing but a good aesthetician should be able to numb the area before the procedure, even if they are using a cannula and the injectable contains a local anaesthetic. Can’t agree more with everything steelseries says. Definitely do your research.

No it doesn't. You'll still feel the sharp pinch that brings tears to the eyes with or without it. My clinic puts it on for everyone but it's still bloody painful.

My doctor gave me LMX numbing cream and it was great. Apply a layer an hour before you go the clinic then apply another layer when you arrive. It made the whole thing very bearable and the pain was minimal.
