Budget cleanser to remove makeup

Ideally palm free. I used Liz Earl for many years then changed to baby oil when I had nothing else. I'm a bit worried that the baby oil will block or clog my pores up, although my face does feel super soft afterwards.

Used to use expensive cleansers but now I just use johnsons baby lotion. Not the stingy pink stuff anymore it's white and has coconut oil in it now no parabens etc. Large pump bottle for about £1.50. It's good.

I like the vitamin c cream cleanser from face theory but they also have an oil based one.

Superdrug vitamin E hot cloth cleanser. It's just as good as Liz Earl and is frequently on offer.

Yes, this is great. I used to use Liz Earle too but tried this when I'd run out and now much prefer it. SO much cheaper and they do a lot of 2 for 1 offers. The cloths aren't quite as good but the cleanser is great.

Jojoba oil and a cleansing cloth

Body shop camomile cleansing butter- not “cheap” but a tin lasts me ages. Gets off mascara as well no problem.

Simple cleansing lotion. Often on offer in Superdrug. Great for sensitive, dry skin. I buy it in bulk because I'm terrified of it being discontinued! Wink

Another vote for CeraVe - I'm late 40s with dry sensitive skin and the hydrating cleanser (green & white bottle) is great. Lasts for ages and very gentle / effective (passes the white towel test when I've taken mascara off!).

I have been a big fan of various more expensive options over the years (Liz Earle, Clarins, Dermalogica, Clinique) and while I can't say that it's better than Dermalogica, it certainly holds it's own and is brilliant value.

Johnsons Baby Lotion.
My mum always used this and I followed suit. Brilliant cleanser / moisturiser in one. Use witch hazel as a toner.

Another baby lotion user here, both me my mum and sister do the same. Takes waterproof mascara off no problem and smells lovely. Plus ridiculously cheap, I use Johnson's

Super Facialist Vitamin C cleansing oil makeup remover is great, and lasts months.

I make my own - half castor oil and half jojoba or almond with some tea tree. Use less castor oil if your skin is drier. Costs less than £5 a year as I buy big bottles from Amazon

Thank you all. Love the homemade ideas, I will definitely be trying some of those. I'm trying to limit my plastic use too, but have heard good reviews on the super facilist oil.

Avene. The tall pump, think it’s about £9 and lasts ages. Gets mascara off, but gentle and hydrating. I’ve got rosacea and it’s calming to my skin.

I use jojoba oil for eye makeup removal. Great cause it also moisturises at the same time. Then my regular cleanser on top

Superdrug Vitamin E or Naturally Radiant hot cloth cleansers. Both are good.

Can't think of what I use, but any old facial cleanser or a wipe (Simple but their eco friendly one).

I think I've used the L'Oreal Age Perfect cleanser but to be honest I generally use anything, what's on offer.

I do have the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser but use it in shower so will try it on makeup.

Nivea in the big blue tin. Just rub in gently and then wash off with a hot flannel.

Boots do their own brand (not No 7) for just over £1 a bottle. Or something like L'Oreal is under a fiver.

Off the back of this thread, I've started using Johnsons baby lotion to remove makeup and then the Asda hyaluronic acid hot cloth cleanser for a second cleanse. Really recommend. Soft, cleansed skin that is comfortable, moisturised and glowy.

Lacura hot cloth cleanser. I used to use Liz Earle but couldn't justify spending that much so I switched, and its better than Liz Earle.

Superfacialist cleansing oil first then a good cleanser, I switch between sukin, lacura and vit e one from superdrug.
I really like the sukin range, pick it up from amazon or TK Maxx - cheap as chips and really effective

Superdrug own hot cloth cleanser is just as good as liz Earle, it’s nearly always on offer. Half price at the moment £2.99.

The Aldi ones are brilliant, no different at all from Liz Earle.
