Eye bag/dark circle treatment for 15 year old

My son has always had dark rings around his eyes and these are now accompanied by bags. People have asked him recently if hes getting enough sleep/is he upset which has led to him being very self conscious. Does anyone have any effective treatments they can recommend for his age? Really desperate as it's getting him down.

Keen to know too… my husband has also got prominent eye bags but seems to be a genetic thing for his family… one of the kids seem to have it too

Hopefully someone will be along soon to give us a miracle cure :)

There are no miracle cures. If there were, I'd be on it.
For the circles, makeup or fake tan can help a bit, not sure how realistic those are for a teenage boy.

NoOnKnows · 09/10/2022 12:46

I have very pale skin and dark circles. Had them my whole life. The only thing that I've found to help a bit is fake tan and taking iron supplements. They have definitely reduced i bit since I started taking the iron, wish I'd known this when I was younger! They'll never completely go but it does help.

I'm not sure how old you have to be to take iron safely. I take 34mg of ferrous fumerate a day. I just bought mine off amazon but worth looking into maybe?

if it’s really bothering him get some Rimmel stick concealer stuff to match his skin tone and show him how to dab on a little bit in the mornings and blend in with a finger. They usually get better as the day goes on anyway I think - everyone is paler in the morning.

Under eye surgery?

Under eye surgery?

For a 15 year old?

There are certain creams that that can help, as well as a tan, and tear trough fillers (obviously not at hai age) Is he drinking lots of water? That's where I'd start, along with loads of vitamins and minerals and Origin's Ginzing Eye Cream.

Gwenhwyfar · 09/10/2022 15:36

Which creams help Lynette and is there any proof that they do help? I'm not convinced.

Ginxx · 09/10/2022 15:58

Following with interest as I have suffered with dark circles and pale skin all my life. As a teenager I used to be accused of smoking with how dark they were. I use colour correcting sticks to try to disguise them but they are very prominent.

PlinkPlonkFizz · 09/10/2022 15:59

Check his iron levels

The Origins cream I've mentioned in my last post seems to help me. I was actually surprised at how well it works. I only used it as it came with and M&S offer (I bought a bag of products for £25 or £30 I think) It's quite pricey though, I think it's £25 at Lookfantatic.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I hadn't looked at this thread in a while as I thought it was dead.

We will give all the suggestions a try. I think he will be open to using concealer but it needs to be almost undetectable - If anyone has any good suggestions they would be very welcome. He has deep olive skin so needs to be a brand that has a good range of natural shades/no orangey undertones.

Oh, and he does get enough sleep/water/not too much screen time.

I use Rimmel Hide The Blemish as it's cheap and it does stay on, but you'd need to take him into a shop (when it's quiet) and try some of the testers on the back of his hand - or if that's no go you could buy the nearest two and he could try them at home.

as long as you blend it in, it's good.

Water definitely makes a difference to mine!

If I'm dehydrated they are dreadful!
