Black thermal leggings

Can somebody please recommend me some black thermal leggings that are actual leggings (you know, the kind that you could wear as trousers if you were so inclined) as opposed to tights?

Im working from home and can't afford to put the heating on but want to feel cosy. All the thermal leggings I've seen are like tights and normal leggings are so thin you could spit through them. Don't care if they are supermarket or more expensive, I just cannot find the thing I want!

Bumping for you as I've been looking for the same! Next have a lot on their website including from Mountain Warehouse but they are all described as 'base layers' with no reviews so I can't tell if their suitable to just wear as leggings!

Hopefully someone will come along with some recommendations soon

Try these - I don't have the leggings but the ultra warm tops are really thick and can be warm just like a t-shirt

Sorry link doesn't work, but you can work out the product I think!

I have the Uniqlo ones above and they are much thinner than the tops, I definitely wouldn’t wear them out of the house. They are, however, so thin that you can wear them underneath normal leggings so you double up on heat and get a more opaque finish.

I have Kari Traa merino base layer leggings from SportPursuit - mine are patterned but could be worn out of the house, they may do black ones?

Another vote for the M&S heatgen plus leggings, thick enough to be worn on their own and they’re noticeable warmer than my usual leggings

MILLYmo0se · 02/10/2022 10:21

The Primark lined leggings (or might be labelled footless tights) are worth a try and their velvet fleeced lined ones are amazingly warm, keep me toasty even supervising playground. Both available in the hoisery section.

Have also been looking for these for Saturday mornings standing in the sidelines!
Have rejected 2 pairs of North Face leggings for being see through

summergone · 02/10/2022 10:38

I bought primark ones last year, so warm

AuntSalli · 02/10/2022 10:55

I have the primark ones but i find them very uncomfortable

LuckyDipForTheEuro · 02/10/2022 10:58

I've been wearing some ski thermal leggings which are thick enough to wear as legging leggings which came from the Aldi aisle of dreams a couple of years ago. They start doing ski stuff around about now so keep your eyes peeled.

They are good but really seem to come up small, bought some the other day and can barely get them on!

What’s the sizing like @WildFlowerBees ?

WildFlowerBees · 02/10/2022 20:00

@SoLongFurlough I take a Large I'm a 12-14 but could fit in a medium.

lindyloo57 · 02/10/2022 20:51

I like the marks ones too, I have both style the thick ones I do wear as leggings, the thin ones I wear under dresses and under jeans on a really cold day.

popperoo · 02/10/2022 22:13

I have the M&S heatgen ones and find them very comfortable and lovely and warm. They're great to wear as an actual pair of trousers as they're not thin or see through
