trainers and socks in winter!

I usually wear boots all through, but this time I would like to continue wearing my low converse and trainers on the more pleasant, dry days - I am thinking with my sport leggings and my ankle length combats. Is there a sort of warmer, or thermal trainer sock out there?

And do any of you still wear trainers in winter? If so, how do you deal with socks?

I don't understand why anyone would think you couldn't wear trainers in winter - plenty of boys/men only ever wear trainers and wouldn't think of wearing boots.

There's trainers and there's trainers. Some are very sensible waterproof (or at least resistant) footwear, others are far less practical fashion items.

You can do what you like of course but canvass sneakers will feel cool in winter no matter the sock. I have somee suede/leather trainers from Shoe The Bear that are so warm i actually avoid them in summer, so winter trainers do exist!

Thank you for more ideas.

But....to the person who mentioned it - the fucks I would give about someone's opinion of my financial status due to wearing some cute converse on a mild winter's day are phenomenally low, lol.

I do love a colourful sock, have quite a collection. Just so bored with dark, heavy winter footwear and it's not even winter yet! I do imagine the weather will dictate as always. My fancy, early autumnal ideas will whither as the temps plummet Grin

I have a whole collection of them (disability so get very cold feet) and they are tog rated!

These are warmer than trainee socks and come in a few colours.

Those are lovely.

OP I wear Bamboo trainer socks.THey are thicker and more padded than sports socks Don't reach the ankle though.

I find converse too cold for trainer socks now I wear the high tops later in the year with proper socks. They're only ok for short trips too as the canvas is so thin. It's boots or uggs now. Boooo

I wear trainers with socks in winter. I bought black and navy merino wool socks from John Lewis as my feet are always cold. I tend to wear longer length jeans or trousers in the winter too.
