So I’ve got to my mid 30s without ever doing a proper skincare/make up routine. Got away with it due to youth but 2 kids in and it doesn’t work for me anymore! I’m starting a new, senior, professional job soon and want to get kitted out with some nice make up and shown how to put it on properly.

budget isn’t too much of an issue. I’m extremely pale and have struggled to find a good colour match foundation in the past so ideally looking for somewhere that might recommend products across a range of brands. Does such a thing exist in London? I’ve seen John Lewis seems to have the kind of service I’d like but not in their London stores. Please help!

@Ifyouknowyouknowyouknow I had a makeup lesson a couple of weeks ago, for very similar reasons to you!

It was with a local makeup artist, and it was really helpful.

I took along what I already had, and she used a combination of that and her own stuff (which was all sorts of different brands).

I found her just by googling makeup lessons / artists near me - maybe try doing that and see what it throws up?

Where are you based roughly OP?

Thanks @RockaLock thats a good idea - don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it.

Im in London @Zogster - north-east or central but can go west if need be!

Ah I'm on the south coast... I've literally just done this for a friend who was in a make up rut!

I read, on here, about an independent make up artist based in Fenwicks, she got rave reviews.

I've very dry sensitive skin, and for years when I wear makeup I've used colour me beautiful. The eye shadows are all in colours that suit you. It's never irritated my skin whereas all sorts of hypoallergenic stuff does.

Thank you @Donttouchit - I think I’ve found her and will give it a try! Looks exactly what I was after. Will report back!
