Menopause skin

Hi
in the space of 2 years I’ve gone from having quite oily but wrinkle free skin to tight, dry, spotty horrible skin that make up clings too in the wrong places 😞.. I’m so fed up and don’t really know what to do! Why is something so natural as the menopause so bloody awful?!
Anyway, I’m looking for a serum and or moisturiser that will stop me looking like crumb from X-men! I don’t mind if it’s expensive because I’m desperate!
TIA.

Look at skin amd me or dermatica

The best thing I bought was the serum by Clarins. Double Serum. I then just use a normal moisturiser like Nivea but I make sure I do this twice a day and I properly clean and exfoliate my skin. Basically stopped being lazy!

I would suggest you crack on with some retinol like Skin and Me or Dermatica.

Add in a Vit C serum in the mornings plus a moisturiser that suits your skin type and you should see a difference in a couple of weeks.

Dermatica - prescription skincare trumps anything you can buy OTC.

Thanks all. I’ve signed up for skin and me and gone through the process. Sent photos! I’ll also have a look at Detmitca. I’m also going to book a consultation to see if I can have some fillers or something. I’ve aged 10 years since 2020 😭😭😭

Skin and me helped my skin loads

Soolantra (prescription rosacea treatment) cleared up my perimenpause spots completely.

LOVE a hydra facial but at £120-160 quid a pop it’s not something I could afford monthly.

I know you didn't ask but have you considered HRT?

Signeduptosimplyreplytothis · 28/09/2022 16:57

I'm hooked on Lumene products

I’m on HRT and this is what is making my skin awful! I think it’s the progesterone 😬

I have sensitive skin alongside menopause and my previously always good skin has become very red and inflamed. Skin and me etc with strong retinol cause even more redness. I've had to become quite detailed with my skincare. I use a cleansing balm plus ren glycolic tonic then various acids, la roche posay vit c morning and la Roche posay retinol evening plus hyaluronic acid am and pm (cerave) then at night I use ren sensitive skin rescue balm. My main skin saviour is a decent factor 50 SPF. Has made a huge difference... Good luck!

Progesterone tablets gave me awful headaches. It might be worth asking the dr if there's a different way to get it. Patches have been good for me, some people have the coil. I don't get headaches from the progesterone at all now.
