Low Maintenance - Put Together

About to start maternity leave number 2, and really keen to not lose myself the same way I did first time around - living in leggings and forgetting to take care of myself. But I'm also realistic that I'm not going to be spending ages doing myself up each day.

So what are your tips for looking put together while also being low maintenance?

So far I've got:

  • lip stain that lasts at least half a day (I'm searching for my holy grail)
  • lash extensions (would do tint/lift - but don't think you can while breastfeeding)
  • brow lamination (once done breastfeeding)
  • gel nails

L’occitaine almond shower oil was great for me in the newborn days. Didn’t have to moisturise, was nice and treaty when you feel rubbish and has a lovely but not overpower scent.

I’d get gel polish on my toenails as well next time around.

super quick make up - tinted moisturiser, cream blush, boy brow type product and a tinted balm. Makes you feel so much more put together but takes a couple of minutes.

Mentally I felt so much better if I got a shower in and dressed every morning, even if I did just get changed into leggings. DD was perfectly happy strapped into a bouncy chair whilst I did what I needed to do

BB cream with SPF
Blush (creamy formulas are nice for tired face)
Mascara
Tinted brow gel (while breastfeeding)
Good lip butter/oil giving you glossy lips, but also some nourishment (I like tropic lip fudge, as normal lip glosses dry my lips)

To this:
Clean hair, no one is expecting you to use hot rollers or do saloon blow dry
Jeans instead of leggings
Fast absorbing body oil or moisturising shower gel
If you don't have time for gel nails, pale pink nail polish will do the job as gives you nice gloss, but isn't as high maintenance as red etc.

Brow waxing / tinting and gel nails have been my favourites, made me feel nicely done up for at least a couple of weeks.
A relative very thoughtfully sent me a posh bottle of shower gel together with gifts for our newborn DS, which has been wonderful too.
I also have a clarisonic brush I use in the shower every day, it takes 1 minute to use but I noticed the wonders it did to my skin when I started to use it again after a couple of months break.

The Bobbi brown art sticks are really good- literally big pencils that you scribble on and blend- does lips, cheeks and eyes and is very long lasting
