Either the long graduated Bob equal both sides or the asymmetrical one with one side quite shorter?

I have a long bob currently but it's not as graduated as the photos or as short. Also wanted something maybe a bit more manageable as I have a DD and didn't want to take so long in my hair ...!

Jesus none of them they are awful

TheOnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 24/09/2022 07:07

3rd option if you must!

Xiaoxiong · 24/09/2022 07:09

If I had to choose it would be the last one but have to say they all look a little dated to my eyes. The very graduated one looks like that "can I talk to the manager" haircut that's been made fun of in (admittedly ageist, sexist) memes.

If you're after something low maintenance would you consider a French bob or a "mixie" (a pixie cut that's longer in the back)? Or what WWW is calling a "boy bob" which appears to be chin length, no shaping, but long enough to tuck behind your ears, air-dried.

Echobelly · 24/09/2022 07:10

Wow, why the hate, they're all nice cuts. But if you want 'manageable", might these be a bit impractical with a kid if the longer side might be getting in your eyes a lot?

If your hair is currently long enough to tie back this sort of cut might take some getting used to.

Echobelly · 24/09/2022 07:11

Like @Xiaoxiong , I'd suggest a shorter version if anything so less in the way.

needlesandpinns · 24/09/2022 07:15

Sorry OP but I think they are all horrible

BrilliantGreenFlamingo · 24/09/2022 07:20

I had a cut like that. It wasn’t as manageable with the kids because you can’t tie it back. I like the second one the most. Longer hair is easier for that reason. It just flopped in my face the whole time.

TreacsPotNoodle · 24/09/2022 07:25

I feel like this cut is extremely dated. What about a subtle wolf cut? Still a bit edgy but really versatile because it works with curly/ wavy hair too and can be tied up.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 24/09/2022 07:44

Personally I don't like asymmetrical hairstyles like that.
It either looks as though one has had to leave the hairdresser in a sudden panic or it has got caught in the mangle whilst doing the washing. 🙁

FitFat · 24/09/2022 07:47

I have had these and looked fab imo and got lots of compliments :)
I prefer pic 1 or 3. Unless u have very good quality "fally" hair in which case 2 is fine.
Have fun OP - ignore others if you like it.

Shekissedagirlandshelikedit · 24/09/2022 07:56

I do agree the sharp angular styles are a bit out of date now. How about a softer bob shape a bit longer that you can tie back. This sort of style is easier to maintain and doesn't need 6 weekly trims to keep it looking good.

I don't think any of those are more manageable than a longer bob (which surely wouldn't really be a bob?), but if you're going to go for it, I'd go shorter than any of those pictures.

JulyDreams · 24/09/2022 09:02

Thanks all! I do straighten my hair and tend to curl the ends underneath so it does look a lot softer. My hair is also very thick so I'm not sure really

Relocatiorelocation · 24/09/2022 10:04

@JulyDreams I've got really thick hair and I've had a graduated Bob, it's absolutely fucking terrible. I'm growing it out, it's just impossible to style and grows outwards daily. Don't do it.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 24/09/2022 10:12

Remember when you have dc you need to be able to SEE at all times! No random flopping over the face!! It’s like putting blinkers on. It’s just not practical when you’re eg wrangling a toddler across the road! I’d go for longer so you can tie it up. Or very short. Not that I suit very short! So longer is more practical. You then have the option to do it and feel pretty too.

JenniferWooley · 24/09/2022 10:49

Manageable they are not! I had one about 10 years ago & had to faff blow drying & straightening it every day unless I was going to a fancy dress party as Wurzel Gummidge!

My hair is now similar to @Shekissedagirlandshelikedit's pic but in need of a cut which is great as I can just chuck it up if i CBA but also looks good blow dried & straightened & can still do nice up do's for special occasions.

JulyDreams · 25/09/2022 12:57

All!! Cancelled my appointment!!

I liked the fact I could actually tie my hair back when I needed to as PP have said. Also I haven't had longer than shoulder length hair in a while so may try to see if I can grow it.

Currently easier for be to tie my hair back then straighten it etc.
