Hi all,

I see on the PP FB group it appears that a disgruntled customer has managed to successfully close down PP (for now, it wouldn't surprise me if they rise from the ashes) in the mean time, anyone know of any other online perfume dupe places? Ta!

I wouldn’t buy a dupe and I hope they stay closed.

Perfumes are not essentials. They’re supposed to make you feel good. How good do you feel wearing something that’s ripped off someone else’s intellectual property and made from inferior ingredients?

Eaumyword · 23/09/2022 08:58

I've bought several times from Essence Vault and been very pleased. I buy the 5ml tryout sizes and they invariably have % offer codes.

More fool the designer brands that are selling overpriced oils, alcohol and water in spray bottles.

I was worried about the safety standards so ended up throwing my PP dupes away

How wasteful. Why would you buy it and then decide it’s harmful?

roses2 · 23/09/2022 12:02

It's my go to shop for perfume, what a disaster :(

That's a bit silly, without the overpriced brands who would the PP dupe?
I always fought their existence was sketchy, like you wouldn't buy CHANNEL from the market but PP is OK?

ArabeI · 23/09/2022 12:35

Oh dear. I hope this isn't permanent. I periodically buy discontinued scents, or those closer to the original formula. Where will I buy Tendre Poison!

Because they didn't smell right to me - unfortunately I was unable to smell them before delivery!

JMAngel1 · 23/09/2022 17:31

Oh no, this is terrible. Has there been an issue with copyright?
If I can't have Tom Ford Lost Cherry and Killian Angel Share this winter, I may cry! Definitely can't afford the originals.Definit
How can it just close? What about all of it's inventory? And surely it's a healthy business - Mumsnet alone must keep it ticking along.

Love don't be shy and baccarat for me Sad they're both lovely

Puppylucky · 23/09/2022 18:27

It's back! The Facebook group has been paused but the site is back up and running - thank God!

JMAngel1 · 23/09/2022 18:34

Oh sweet jesus, thank god for that!

Frankly, Jo Malone can get stuffed now.

Their fragrances are a rip-off - so much weaker than they used to be.

I love my ‘Astray Fruit’!

I bet they’ve seen their best ever orders. Santal 33 and Rose 31 still out of stock along with Jazz Club. Shame but hopefully they’ll see how many orders and how much demand there is.

Don’t want to derail the thread but I’m almost positive there’s nothing harmful. They’re made in Britain and have an established bricks and mortar shop. I’ve got 15% off Cult Beauty but now I’ve tried these it’s going to be very difficult to go back to buying MMM and Le Labo - and these are nowhere near as expensive as some of the dupes!

AnneBoIeyn · 24/09/2022 09:36

The Perfume People are brilliant for dupes, as are Arabian Opulence. AO's Faux Malones are better than the current iterations of the genuine ones, imo. They last forever.

I feel great smelling nice, whoever made it!

The fact is if I buy a dupe Chanel, the real Chanel are not missing out on my money. Why? Because I could never bloody afford to buy it.

When tbe big designers started insulting their customers by upping the prices of their 'intelluctual property' so much that they started becoming almost unobtainable for a lot of people, it's no wonder that people started going elsewhere for products that smell pretty much exactly the same.

Supply and demand innit!

Good point. Also, thinking about it, I’m sure a small seller from Leicestershire needs my money more than Le Labo does.

I will still be buying the real thing but now I’ve tried PP I’ll be increasing the amount I buy. So in my case, the big perfume houses and the British seller benefits.

MissBattleaxe · 24/09/2022 13:20

That's a real shame. I can recommend Eden though. They do good dupes and it's vegan if that's important to you. Their Gucci Envy is fab.

ChizzleMeNizzle · 24/09/2022 18:43

They're still operating, I've just placed an order with them.

ChecoPerez · 28/09/2022 11:16

Ordered 3 perfumes from here as a result of this thread! And omg 2/3 are identical (Dior midnight poison and YSL - Mon Paris)

The YSL Elle has a bit of a strange undertone but other than that, I'm hoping this company stays so I can buy more!!

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 28/09/2022 11:18

I'm going to try the Nivea scent. I love nivea!
