Hi,
I’m in my late 30’s and need to start doing something about my skin.
I’ve noticed I’m getting a few fine lines and a deep frown line 😩 also my skin just looks a dull and tired,
At the moment I use a skin cleanser from face theory that I like and cerave moisturiser.

I have tried to research an anti ageing routine, retinol etc but so I really need 10 different creams! All I’ve done is confuse myself.

I need to do something, just really aomw help and advice please.

I would strongly recommend frownies patches or the cheaper alternatives you can buy. They won't eradicate your frown line, only botox can do that, but act in a similar but temporary way by stopping you frowning so you look smoother for a few hours after wearing them. If you wear them regularly, they also stop it getting worse.

I didn’t even know these were a thing!! I could do with wearing one all day everyday!

thank you for all the info- I really need it! Ahh, so I don’t just start off putting tret on every night then! I didn’t realise that.
your routine sounds perfect, just the kind of routine I want.

The thing is, because you are starting with quite a low strength of tretinoin you might be able to get away with using it every second night or so. I would say just do a bit of trial and error.

If you're eager to get going with it then twice a week would be a good place to start, and if you see lots of irritation then cut back to once a week for a while and gradually build up.

It's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' because everyone's skin is different.
I have heard of people starting out with tretinoin and using it every night, thinking all was fine until about 2 or 3 weeks later when their face practically peels off in one lump!

Also, even after 3 years or so using tretinoin, I still can't tolerate it on my neck and chest - it gets red, itchy and irritated and I look like I've had an allergic reaction. So I use over the counter retinol which is much weaker. So I guess the skin there is much more sensitive or something.

But weirdly I've used it on the backs of my hands this whole time, and have had no redness or peeling whatsoever, nothing. The only thing I have noticed is that the skin on my hands is really soft, and if I ever get a cut or scratch there, my skin heals really quickly. So I guess it's doing something.

I honestly can’t thank you enough, I would have slapped it on every night 🤦🏻‍♀️
so I need to take my time and use plenty of sunscreen!

Most dermatologists says that The ageing process starts as early as 21, but the visible signs start appearing post 30. So I recommend you to starting anti-ageing products by 25 to protect your skin's natural capability for a youthful look. Look for the anti-ageing products like face cleanser, face toner, under eye cream, anti-aging serum and ultra moisturizing cream belong to the same brand.
Make sure to include the products in daily skin care routine @ Am and PM without missing any usage tips.

Just to add , if you go to Spain anytime, you can buy in most chemists tretinoin for round £20 a tube, it's called retirides, they do 3 strengths you should start with the lowest, you can buy it online from them, I don't have the address perhaps someone on here can help.
