Tell me about your most practical A/W coat

Apologies if this has been done to death.

I would like a practical A/W coat. I have enough dressy coats, this is more for standing in the rain at school pick ups etc. I would still like to look reasonably smart whilst being warm and dry. It is tipping it down here today and I have nothing suitable.

What are you all wearing and loving?

I’m 5’3 and did find the Didrikson swamped me - it wasn’t so much the length as the width of it. I also found it really heavy.

North face seem narrower and slimmer and were a better fit.

if you have lots of £££ then Creenstone have some amazing coats. But very expensive!

I'm after something in-between a rain mac and my super warm walking coat

By the time I got from the train station to work in the rain yesterday in my Trespass parka I was a sweaty mess!

I have a waterproof long joules coat. It's my first proper waterproof coat and it's great, not too thick but very warm. I got it for a good price on Joules clothing outlet on ebay.

I bought a Joules coat 9 years ago which is waterproof, knee length and has a thin fleece lining on the upper body part. It is perfect for this time of year - or would be for the fact that, having worn it so much, it is now looking really worn. I've been looking for a replacement for two years now with no luck.
I have a couple of more heavy duty winter coats but they'd be too much for this time of year.
