Clinique - Take the day off. Am I doing this wrong?

I thought I'd buy this cleansing balm as a make-up remover. Thus far I'd been using cotton pads and make up remover, micellar (sp) water. But I find that even after the cleansing balm I still have to go in with a cotton pad and make up remover, particularly if I've worn mascara. So what's the point of the cleansing balm because I still use a different cleanser after I've removed my make-up or was it never intended as a makeup remover?

It's a brilliant make up remover. You want to use it on dry skin. So take a little blob of the balm and melt between your fingers. Start at your eyes and rub over your lashes and eye make up and then massage into the rest of your face to melt your make up off. Then take a warm wrung out flannel and again start at your eyes and wipe gently away then go over the rest of your face. Rinse your flannel out, and go round again to make sure everything is off.

I use take the day off as a makeup remover. Have you tried double cleansing?

What I do is use a microfibre cloth to remove the makeup first - this type www.argos.co.uk/product/8962676 (although mine are from primark - same thing, less £, had them years at this point!)

Then go in with the balm afterwards.

If I'm not wearing makeup I double cleanse by using micellar water/cotton wool first then whatever face wash I have on the go at the time.

Thank you both. I had been dampening my face first as I thought it'd make it easier. I'll give it another go!

Having used both I can also recommend bodyshop camomile cleanser in the tin. It gets every scrap off including gel eye liner every time. Rub it on - don’t need to scrub it in- and wipe off with a wet flannel.
I often get sore eyes with eye make up remover and never have with this whereas Clinique started to turn against me!

I use good old Ponds cold cream now, gave up the TTDO as expensive for what it is.
Ponds on dry skin, gently rub onto eyes and a warm , damp face cloth and it swipes it all off beautifully with no greasiness.
I do like that Bodyshop one as well.
