As inflation is expected to rise further, are you stocking up for winter now (clothes and beauty)?

I’m in two minds as on the one hand I want to make sure I save some money as a buffer but then if things are just going to get more expensive is it better to buy now? Eg winter boots.

Do you buy winter boots every year??? Surely the best way to beat inflation this winter is to use the same clothes as you had last winter?

No am saving by not spending!

If you need winter boots because you don't have any then you should probably get them right now.

I had new boots last year, which are in good condition, so don't need to buy more.

I can't really think of anything I do need, apart from warm/thermal socks and I don't need to stockpile them. I'll just get what I need when I see them.

If you need new bots or whatever, then I think it does make sense to buy as soon as you find ones you like - either that or wait for sales (but that's a PITA if you know you're going to start wearing them soon - also less choice in popular sizes)

I bought a winter coat today - needed a new one and from experience they'll all be gone by October anyway. The shops were really busy, the fake oodie section in primark had been stripped bare so I think a lot of people are.

Not any more than I normally would do (and I am a planner). I generally do a capsule-ish wardrobe and recently went through everything I have to switch over my rail for autumn/winter so it's easy to spot what I need or might want.

My consensus this year was that I don't actually need anything really, last years boots and coats are in good condition and I still really like them, I'd like a couple of new jumpers in specific colours but will wait until I see something I love, and I do want (but don't specifically need) a warm belted wool style coat so will be on the lookout.

The only thing I have bought early this year was a couple of new electric throw blankets, I'll need them for winter anyway and did wonder if they might go up in price as demand increases when the temp dips and the reality of energy bills sets in. When doing my clothing clearout I kept any warm/soft/comfy jumpers that I'd not wear out anymore ( either getting a little tatty or just no longer my style) but will do nicely for keeping warm in the house over the winter or for dog walks. Saves buying anything else.

Not really, but I tend to really shop around or in sales - for example there was an embroidered jacket from East I saw last year which I thought my sister would love, it finally went on sale 50% off last month and bagged it for this Christmas.
My daughter (17) is very frugal and will wear things for years. I insisted she get new trainers this year as I realised she was wearing ones that were over three years old. I haven't bought her a winter jacket in years either. So she's easy, and as happy with things from Tesco as anywhere. I wear my clothes to death too - especially at home stuff. I was looking at old baby pics and noticed I was wearing the same t shirt as I was in the pic! 17 years plus old!
My son however is trying to bankrupt me, and I've just renovated my house so all my money has gone to getting decent stuff that will last.

I've bought lots of clothes for DD (toddler) on summer sales, she's got enough clothes to last her at least a year. Cotton prices are going up, so wanted to stock up a bit.
I'd buy those winter boots, OP, if I were you! I saw several of my favorite brands increase prices and I'm sure it won't stop there. 🤔
