Hi, really hoping someone can point me in the right direction for improving my look.

I'm mid 40s, 5'7, 10.5 stone with big boobs and hips, a slim ribcage, not much of a tummy but no longer much of a waist either.

I find that anything that isn't stretchy/fitted just makes me look fat or pregnant

I've always worked in a professional office so suit/fitted dress with heels then weekends mainly in workout or riding gear. I don't go out much, when I do I tend to wear something like I'd wear for work, or jeans and a fitted top.

Now I wfh so mainly wear the workout gear and it makes me feel crap.

I saw a personal stylist in both selfridges and John Lewis, spent a fortune, but have realised its mainly accessories, I don't like many of the clothes 🙄

How do I find inspiration for my body type? Models are either stick thin or plus size. Any celebs my size? Any publications likely to be more suitable for me?

Any better places for a stylist? I'd really appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks

Pinterest is great for outfit inspiration. Maybe Google body shapes and see if you can work out what you are, then search Pinterest for outfits for that shape.

I save ones I like to a board and use that to create a shopping list.

Thank you for this, I spent a while with a tape measure and I'm surprisingly still an hourglass despite the increase in my waist.

And its as I feared, all recommendations are basically my work wardrobe (fitted/wrap/heels) which I've always loved and know looks good but is useless for casual wear.

I'll try to find some not-too-skinny hourglass celebs and see what they wear to go to sainsburys!

You can still wear fitted and wrap dresses, but change the style for more casual outings.

A wrap dress, flat boots/trainers and a leather jacket

slim ankle grazer trousers/jeans with a fitted top and trainers. I would layer up with a chunky knit or blazer - the blazer can be fitted if necessary.

You already know what style suits you and what you feel comfortable in so work from there?

You can create a waist with clothes as you've already done with wrap dresses but lots of other clothes do this too. I'm not a fan of stylists personally because they don't know how clothes feel when you get them on.
Try on lots of things to find out what is 'you', your style, things that you love. You will know when you find a piece of clothing because it makes you feel fabulous-material, fit, colour, pattern, style and you won't want to take it off. Repeat until you have a few items Then wear the hell out of them and gradually add more.
