Tops for big busted laddies?

Dd is off to uni in a few weeks, she doesn’t really have any going out clothes, isn’t really into clothes (has ASD and dresses for comfort), she wants to go to a few fresher events but lives in jeans, joggers and baggy T-shirts. She’s a size F boob with a size 10/12 waist and big hips. She will happily wear black trousers, leggings with boots but needs a couple sensible tops to wear. She won’t wear dresses, isn’t girly so nothing flowery. Any suggestions?

And please don’t comment saying dd should chose her own clothes because dd doesn’t want too, she hates clothes shopping 😬, I just don’t want her to get to uni and not have anything to wear if she wants to go out in the evenings.

V neck tops flatter a bigger bust I find. I’m a G for reference. So nice wrap style tops?

I am the same size and I wear a lot of V neck tops.
Those long baggy shirts are really fashionable now as well. I get a size up and don't do the top buttons up so that the buttons aren't trying to pop off!

I'm a GG/H and agree that a V neck, or even cowl neck is far more flattering to a larger bust than say round neck. An extra long necklace can also give the illusion and provides an up-down view rather than a focus side to side which, say a strapless top would do.

What is her overall shape? Hourglass? Inverted triangle? There are multiple online sources for advice on styles she could use based on her overall shape.

Boat neck are flattering.
If she prefers to hide them then loose fabric is better.

HH hourglass here, maybe several soft cotton or jersey plain vest tops with comfy shirts or full zip hoodies over. I also love a v neck or button or quarter/half zip hoodie when I can find them. Those zip neck jumpers are around at the moment as well and flattering unzipped. Well fitting bras too

verdantverdure · 02/09/2022 22:40

Would she be comfy in a white vest under a denim shirt corduroy shirt or check shirt? Satin shirts were in last year, but I don't know if they still are. It doesn't have to be form fitting or revealing these days I don't think.

What others have said plus scarves and a long necklace. Jackets help too. You might find a Bravissimo jean jacket on eBay?

Lovemusic33 · 03/09/2022 08:58

Thank you, she will wear check or denim shirts so I will try and get her some vest tops to go underneath. Wrap style tops sound like a good plan too. I will have a look in vinted and eBay with her later too.

Thank you for those who have been helpful. Dd does know I’m asking in here, most of her friends are a different shape to her so she doesn’t really know how to dress for her shape, I’m also the opposite shape to her. I’m hoping once she gets to uni she will make friends and go shopping to buy her own clothes but up until now she just hasn’t been very interested.
