Non-frumpy breastfeeding friendly occasion dress? Please help!

My son's christening is in a few weeks and I can't find a dress that I like within budget that is suitable. I know how brilliant you S&B Mumsnetters are at being virtual stylists and I would appreciate some help!

Brief:

Size 8-10
Height 5 foot 6
Budget up to £200
Not frumpy but not too sexy
Not too floaty, ideally quite form-fitting (but this is not essential)
Ideally midi length
Breastfeeding friendly (so no high neck)
Any sleeve style and colour considered but would prefer long sleeved and light coloured

I love Rixo dresses but they are a bit out of my budget at present.

TIA! Smile

Tiffany Rose have a selection of nursing dresses, abd you could also try Seraphine

Seraphine has some lovely dresses.

Tiffany Rose has an excellent 2nd hand market as they are often bought and worn once.

I wore this jumpsuit for my DD's christening, it was easy enough to breastfeed in, I just draped a large muslin over myself and pulled the top part down a bit. Phase 8 have a few dresses that are easy to feed in too.

Wrap dresses are great for this. You can pair with a chemise or tank underneath that helps cover if the V gets pulled open by a squirmy baby. Then when you need to nurse, just pull dress to side and the under layer up. It’s basically a diy nursing dress, but gives you many different options to choose from.

Agree do NOT spend £200 on a “breastfeeding” dress - places like seraphine are full of frump. Buy a lovely wrap dress which you can pull tighter when boobs have gone down post feeding so you can get the most wear. I have an expensive one I got from matches that I wore pre pregnancy, at 34 weeks pregnant, and then post partum and breastfeeding. Definitely got my moneys worth and nothing about it says “baby” or “breastfeeding”.

The outnet may be a good place to look if you are hoping for something to last you longer term. Otherwise I would look at &other stories.

Few more ideas - I agree, there's no way I'd spend £200 on a nursing dress. Just get something you can easily pull down or to one side and put a slip underneath it or use a blanket / wrap / muslin to cover up.

Slightly over budget but the Reiss dress is lovely and has buttons you could open.
