I'm tired of choosing what to wear every day.

I have decision fatigue.

I especially don't like choosing outfits for work, I want a uniform of sorts.

My goal? Same trousers, same shirts, same shoes. Every day. Obviously in multiples.

Has anyone else done this? Was it liberating, or boring? I long for "get up and go" mornings, rather than the angst of today, for example, when I couldn't find the right bra to wear under the shirt I had planned, and everything was confusing and stressful.

I admit, I probably don't fit into the S&B mindset, but I need your thoughts and experience! I don't want a capsule wardrobe, I want a work uniform. What should I choose?

I think it's a great idea, although temperature and fickleness are issues for me.

Dresses definitely make life easier, especially if you're willing to buy the same dress in several colours/prints when you find one you like.

Yes and no!
I have dresses which are easy. Then

blouses in grey, green and a dark red (all the same style)
Skirts in black, navy and a check pattern (all the same style)
Trousers in black and a check pattern
Cardigans in black and navy
Blazer in black and check pattern
Loafers, t bar heels and ankle boots all in black
Tights in nude and black

I can pretty much mix and match those to look different without too much effort so I'll grab the grey blouse, check skirt and black blazer and so on

Me too!!!! I just can’t be bothered anymore. Part of it is wfh- I used to wear nice work clothes but I no longer see anyone every day so why bother? Stuck in a rut!

I get you.

I try and have a capsule wardrobe these days, so far fewer options but they all mix and match.

I have a uniform in so far as I effectively wear the same outfit every day - trousers or jeans, t shirt or top and a cover up. No dresses, no skirts. The style changes with fashion and the seasons but it means more or less all of my clothes can be worn together in almost infinite permutations. I still sometimes struggle as I have quite a lot of clothes but enjoy fashion so would be bored with a small capsule.

I guess I mean something even more minimalist than a mix and match capsule wardrobe, I am looking for the exact same outfit every day I'm in the office (hybrid). I work in a tech adjacent type role, on team projects, internally facing. Lots of meetings, mostly across the UK so remote.

I am also thinking of a monochromatic colour palette, so navy trousers with a blue shirt, a thin jumper over the top in winter worn with docs, and sleeves rolled up and worn with chucks in summer. I cycle into the office, so could potentially keep a week's worth of clothes in my locker and simplify my journey as well.

Would this be remarked upon? Would people care? I would feel relieved to take the thought out of clothes while also looking office ready, but would I be perceived as odd, I wonder. I rarely notice what other people wear.
