Best Vitamin C serum

For combination skin?

I have tried a few. Liked Drunk Elephant but found it very oily. I think it’s now changed it’s formulation?

Skinceuticals seems the best but it is so pricey!

If one has sensitive skin, what would be an alternative to vitamin C? I’ve been using vit c for years and starting to feel I need something gentler.

If you still want to use a Vitamin C (as in, if you are seeing benefits from it) you could try a lower strength, like 10% which is less likely to irritate. Some brands like Obagi and Skinceuticals do the lower strength.

Otherwise, you could look for other antioxidant serums, like Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid, Niacinamide or CoEnzyme Q10. Although be waned niacinamide can be quite stingy also.

Vichy is good but it smells weird

Vitamin E is a good alternative and Superdrug do a good (and cheap) vitamin E range.

The Ordinary does vitamin C serums as well which are quite well priced.

I like the Lumene arctic berry serum too but it is £££.

I use La Roche Passat Vit C serum. It absorbs very quickly and is non greasy. It’s usually on sale somewhere so you rarely pay full price (£40)

Passat should be “Possay” obviously 😳🙄

Farmageddon great suggestions, Thankyou. I remember using a Trilogy CoQ10 oil years ago that was very good. I’ve never used CoQ10 again though! Lower dose vit c will be a good idea , I think, after giving my skin a break. I’ve been using 23% for many years.

gatehouseoffleet I love the Superdrug vitamin e suggestion because I can go pick some up tomorrow and try it immediately, Thankyou.

I am 'blessed' with oily sensitive skin, the Roche Posay one works for me. It faded an old cold sore red mark (I am such a babe 😁) and I've had much clearer skin on my nose since using it. It's sticky though, needs a few minutes to sink in.

I’ve just started using the Sally Hughes Revolution one too - complete with the vitamin c moisturiser. I like it.
I asked my daughter to take a good look at me today and have a look again in a few weeks to see if she can notice an improvement! I’m hoping it’ll help with my recently developed sun spots (despite wearing sunscreen).
