Maybe not best place for this, am happy to move if someone suggests
need to know best brush for brushing a child’s long thick hair which always knots. I plait a night. Also a decent tangle teaser spray?
many thanks, Hilary

We use my littlecoco detangler and a mini tangle teezer brush

For my little one's hair we use Cantu kid's conditioning detangler and then brush with a mini Wetbrush. I use a full sized Wetbrush myself. Lots of fun designs to choose from on Amazon.

We also use the Cantu kid's curling cream too. The products have a lovely scent.

Thanks both, any more votes for a wet brush or a tangle tweezer. Kids are nearly 7 so a full size brush now?

Wet brush is a bit nicer as they have a proper handle.

NeurologicallySpeaking · 19/08/2022 22:50

Also use a wet brush as more gentle. We use child's farm detangler

Yes, a full sized Wetbrush will be fine. I found Tangle Teezers hard work as they have no handle and constantly slipped out of hand with wet hair.

I liked the My Little Coco range too - works well and smells good also - but found the bottles were rubbish at dispensing the product sadly.

I use the Cantu detangling spray and a wet brush. It smells lovely and detangles well. I tend to use all Cantu products on DD now.

I have think curly hair and my childhood pics are of a massive frizzy head of hair !

Detangle sprays are good, usually for kids though I use them on me!

Wet brush but do replace regularly as the tips do break off which makes the brush sharp. If hair very thick, use a leave in conditioner on dry hair. Works well for my daughter's wavy hair which gets very tangled.

bobisbored · 20/08/2022 19:44

We use a tangle teezer with a handle and Palmers coconut leave in conditioner.

My granddaughter likes my tangle teezer

They are horrendously expensive but IMO mason Pearson brushes are worth it. I'm on my second one (first one lasted 20ish years). Bought a mini one for dd when she was 2, bought the larger "junior" one when she went to secondary and she's using it daily at uni now.

RubertRoo · 21/08/2022 22:32

Another one for Cantu detangler but with this hairbrush. I got it from Savers for about £1.99. We've got through so many expensive Tangle Teezers and hairbrushes and this one works better than any other for my DDs very long, curly, very tangled hair and it doesn't hurt her either.
