Well, it's not exactly a necessity.

Scissor · 19/08/2022 14:20

It's at least £2 in my local charity shop and of no practical use. China cabinets groaning with the stuff from the 70's and 80's. Just needs another 20 years maybe? I can remember GPlan being considered good for bonfires a couple of decades ago.

Namerchangerextraordinaire · 19/08/2022 14:27

No.

Tibtab · 19/08/2022 14:30

I wouldn’t say it’s terribly fashionable now. I think the Wedgewood website has an ulterior motive in trying to convince people it is a luxury item.

I got a 1960s one for £50 ffs

It's so old fashioned.

I've never seen it in charity shops! I'd have bought it if I had 😁. I love the colour, even if it is slightly old fashioned.

That's a lot. I got one recently in an antique - gift shop place, it was £5.
Mind you it's only small.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/08/2022 14:40

I do like it, I don’t buy it because I don’t like ornaments much but it’s quintessentially English.

Yes, it's not very fashionable at the moment so you can pick them up quite cheaply.

My one is 20cm tall, 10 cm wide--- is that small
I got it off of Esty using an etsy giftcard

We had so much of it in the late 70s, my Mum loved it.

Crikey! I gave 5 pieces, various sizes, away for £10!

That's probably about right

I would say that's a lot of money then

Johnnysgirl · 19/08/2022 14:47

I'm sure it's lovely, op, don't let anyone spoil it for you.

Tibtab · 19/08/2022 14:47

Doesn’t matter if it’s fashionable if you like it.

aspiringwriter3456 · 19/08/2022 14:49

It's about the same price as the new prada perfume, so it can't be luxury then?

Maireas · 19/08/2022 14:49

I agree with pp - if you like it buy it. I do. Just don't consider it an investment.

whataloadabullocks · 19/08/2022 16:02

Give it another 100 years and it'll be the next Clarice Cliff or not.
If you can afford it and it gives you pleasure then go for it, but realistically don't expect an appreciation in value. It might increase in value if them make a very limited number on a certain design, but generally go into any charity shop and you'll find jasperware sitting on a shelf getting dusty.
