An idiot-proof gradual tanner that goes quite dark eventually?

I am pale-to-medium toned but I do tan in the end - apart from my legs, which usually remain a delicate pale blue.

This year I've managed to get a tiny bit of colour on them, and my thread veins and weird bruises and manky mozzy bites etc (in my 50s) look SO much better.

I know leg makeup works to cover this stuff up but it feels, I dunno, a bit mucky Grin to have foundation on my legs. I've done a couple of gradual tanners before but they came out a bit wishy-washy - pale gold rather than actually tanned.

Does anyone know of one which is very easy to use (preferably not too long to sink in as I'll be doing it before bed) and ends up being a nice healthy brown colour?

Thanks in advance if you can help!

Palmers, it's brilliant

It does have great reviews, but I'm weirdly repulsed by the cocoa butter smell. I love chocolate but not on my body.

Palmers is fab. It's natural looking, covers shins and is never streaky. Trick is to put it on while you're still damp from the shower (2-3 pumps per leg). The smell isn't the best but it doesn't linger.

@WinterDeWinter I feel exactly the same, can't stand the smell. In fact, I don't like any of the fragrances in Palmers products, which is annoying because they are, otherwise, very good, especially for the price. They do a non fragrance body lotion which I sometimes use.

As regards the gradual tan, theirs is the only one that gives me the right colour without patches.

My system is to choose one day when I don't leave the house after about 10AM. Exfoliate the night before, I still apply a rich moisturiser to knees, elbows, above heels and between toes. Then I apply the gradual tan 3 or 4 times throughout the day. I wear a loose long dress and grin and bear it until the evening when I have a shower. Pat dry (not rub dry with a towel) then use a generic moisturiser every day until it wears off.

I don't do it very often because of the above, but it really works very well.
