What can I use on DD’s nose?

DD is nearly 13 and is getting spotty, I’m trying to get her into a cleansing routine before we go the doctor route.
I’m wary of using typical teenage ranges as I think they can be too harsh.
Her nose is the worst bit, it’s very red with lots of little blackheads, can anyone recommend any products that may help?

Sorry this isn't very helpful but her skin looks absolutely fine. Not a spot in sight...

userxx · 13/08/2022 12:10

I can't see any spots either, she has perfect skin.

Second this.

Thirded. I wish my skin was that good

BobMortimersPocketMeat · 13/08/2022 12:12

Her skin looks great. And you haven’t shown us her nose so we don’t know if she has an issue there or not. She just needs a cleanse and moisturise regime at that age.

Doctor for what? Don’t all teenagers go through a spotty blackheady phase?

redbigbananafeet · 13/08/2022 12:17

You've sent an absolutely fine looking photo of her lips. Please do not give your child a complex about her appearance when she looks perfectly healthy.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 13/08/2022 12:19

You don't need a doctor for spots. Get her a good cleanser like neutrogena, good moisture like nivea. Spot patches for big ones.

GreenLunchBox · 13/08/2022 12:19

I can't see any spots, just dry skin?

I agree with you. Medicalising a normal part of puberty seems weird and over the top. All teens get spots. You can’t stop it without some pretty harsh interventions which are only justified where there’s cystic acne or something else beyond a few teenage spots. They (we) all go through it and come out the other side.

No GP will do anything for skin like the OP’s daughter’s, and I wouldn’t recommend taking up an appointment for it.

Paula's choice exfoliating BHA toner on a cotton pad - gently wipe around the nose area every so often. Can buy a travel sized version to try first.

stickleback123 · 13/08/2022 12:26

By every so often I mean 2-3 times a week max

MistyRock · 13/08/2022 13:40

Doctor route!!! 😂 Poor kid, her skin looks lovely.

calmlakes · 13/08/2022 13:41

If the OP is taking a picture of their own nose, honestly it looks completely normal and not in need of anything.

Regularsizedrudy · 13/08/2022 13:42

Jesus Christ you’ll give the poor girl a complex. Her skin is fine.

TigerStripesRoarrr · 13/08/2022 22:07

MarmiteCoriander · 13/08/2022 22:10

Why post about a supposed spotty nose- and only show a pic of her chin, lips and base of nose!!! 🙄
What we can see looks perfectly normal OP!
