Beauty Bible Testing

Has anyone become a tester recently for The Beauty Bible Awards? I’m thinking of joining and have seen you need to pay £40 per testing package (of ten full sized items) - happy to pay this as I understand the postage, admin & organisational costs - but just wondering if the items you get are nice? I don’t really want to pay £40 if it’s basic branded stuff. Thanks

I have done the Beauty Bible testing 3 times now. Its definitely worth the money. I have recieved items to the value of £250-£300 and tried so many things I would never have looked at or heard of.

You just need to make sure you keep all the packaging and make notes as you go along to fill out the spreadsheet for testing results.

I’ve done it in the past, the total cost of the products was around £350 ish with one being a £80 moisturiser and another being a £8 serum, so a real mix of products. The forms need to be properly completed and take more work than you might think. I’m really into skincare so I loved doing it.

I did it a couple of times a lot of years ago. You get great products, mostly full size, some luxury/high end, some more affordable, so in terms of bang for buck, it's a great way to get access to some products you would never buy. However, it really does need you to be dedicated in filling in the the feedback sheets.

Also, while the headline value is there and you will receive some great products, it's a bit like a beauty advent calendar in that while the value is there you might just get a lot of stuff you don't actually like that much. Both times I did it, I didn't feel like I was robbed, there was usually at least one product that I loved that was almost the price of the box paid back.

Is that still going? I used to do it years ago when the books first came out, still got them somewhere, & everything was done on paper forms you returned.
Remember it was interesting as you never knew what you’d get, like a surprise present, but a real mix as others have said.
I also used to do testing for Lush ( in it’s infancy, I’m old) & Boots. Funnily enough I was recently contacted by Boots to start doing it again after not doing it for years….they must want to find out what works for us decrepit old codgers 😂

Thanks so much for the replies! I think I’ll go for it. @Darklane your post made me laugh! I’m no spring chicken either so guess they need us to test the ‘mature’ products 😂
