In a style rut

I have no idea what my personal "style" is anymore. I'm 34 and had a baby 9 months ago. With lockdowns, pregnancy/maternity wear and then the post partum period I just feel like It's been so long since I had the time, energy, interest in really putting effort into my style. I wouldn't say I look particularly bad or disheveled or like I've really let myself go. I just don't really know what my personal style is anymore and I feel like I'm wearing a combination of old outfits that are no longer particularly stylish/suit me, and a few new things that I can't really "style"
Or accessorize properly and that probably
Don't really suit me so I feel a bit frumpy in them. I don't really know how or where to shop anymore . I don't have the same time that I used to so would love to be able to shop more efficiently and have a smaller
Wardrobe of things that I know suit me. Instead I feel like I buy random things and nothing really
Goes together.

Any tips for where to begin? I'd love to feel confident again

I lost myself a bit post-baby, lockdowns, switch to wfh and so on, and ended up with random stuff that didn[t go together or really feel like me.

I found the most helpful thing was to stop the random purchases and spend some time working out what my end goal was, then work out how to get there. So lots of time on pinterest and instagram refinding my style, working out what would work for my lifestyle, what suits me (shape and colour), identifying a wishlist of items and looking at that before buying to keep me on track. You could get a friend or relative to help.

I mainly stick to 2 or 3 brands I love which makes shopping more efficient as I know the sizing and can also easily save searches for preloved stuff on Vinted etc. It also means stuff is more likely to work together. Resticting the colour palette a bit is an easy way to get more stuff that goes together.

You could start with a key basic, like a really great pair of jeans that will look good even with simple tops - maybe a different cut so if you wear skinnies try straight leg or flared jeans. Or invest in a statement dress or skirt and then some good quality plain bits so you can style it in different ways. If there is already something in your wardrobe that suits you and you feel good in, could you begin by building outfits around that? Identify what would you need to style it and get more wear from it, then hunt for those things.
