Does Working From Home make you look younger?

I'm thinking about skin rather than dress sense!

But it occurs to me that I'm saving my skin from a lot of battering from the elements - sun, wind etc on a commute.

And maybe have more time to do a proper skincare regime?

But I'm not getting fresh air and exercise.

Just pondering, thoughts welcome!

There's a theory that you look after your skin better if you put make up on and go outside. The SPF is protecting your skin (although obvs you should be wearing it inside as well) and you cleanse properly to remove it at the end of the day, which you might not if just at home with little/ none on.

I think it would have to, simply because it puts you in control of your environment and schedule. I'm very conscious of UV damage and feel my commute is such a waste in that regard, whereas if I worked from home I could spend the same time and "UV budget" on a nice walk. Working from home could potentially give you more fresh air and exercise, but like anything that takes some effort as the default can be waist-up dressing and even creeping agoraphobia. You could also find your commitment to a skin-care regime flagging, if like pp says you don't have the incentive of regularly meeting people. I'm skeptical about "skin-care régimes" in general. Clean your face, use some form of active and moisturise. Your face is ageing faster than any masks, devices or supplements can keep up so even if you are working from home, go out and present yourself!

I think wfh makes me look older.

Part of that is my fault, I end up going to bed too late as don't have to get up and out the next day. But I think I spend more time staring at a screen than I do in the office so there's light damage coming that way and dries my eyes out. Also not going out tends to make me look a bit pallid/sallow.

Ugh I’m way worse when working from home. Too many snacks and hunched over the laptop on the sofa.

Screen time is ageing

Ducksinthebath · 03/08/2022 17:27

Definitely feel older looking. But then my desk at home is next to a window rather than in a tall tower behind UV glass like it was before.

Yes. My Zoom filter makes me look 10 years younger!

Why does screen time make you look older?

Yeah, I think I am a funny colour from being inside so much! Like prison!
