All things hair, skin, beauty etc whether its to overcome greys, products to make your hair feel healthier (less greys, less hair loss) or skin feel softer etc. Any products you're particularly loving at the moment?

Savouring the feeling when I've just come out of the shower, for me personally that's the best feeling in the world. I do a few minutes of meditation/mindfulness and that feeling stays with me throughout the day. I feel more connected to my body and appreciate how wonderful it is.

@polka6 appreciate this might be not what you were looking for, but thought I'd add share!

Nice hot bath, with bath foam. Might put a facemask on in there. An eyemask if I'm going out out . Perfume on, even if staying it home, and wasting it on DH Grin

I love doing a face mask to perk my skin up. I’m using an Origins resurfacing one at the moment which is lovely then I like to use a sheet mask afterwards (my favourite is the Garnier moisture bomb nighttime one).
Also really like the foot masks you can get that are like socks you put on for 20 mins or so (peppermint ones are my fave)

BuwchGochGota · 30/07/2022 18:36

Sticking to my skincare routine. It's boring and basic, but if I feel rubbish it's the first thing to slip and then I feel more rubbish because my skin looks dry and tired.

My skincare routine is pretty straightforward - hot cloth cleanser morning and night, eye cream, day cream with an SPF, rich night cream. Retinol on a Sunday night. It only takes five minutes but makes the world of difference to how I feel about myself.

BuwchGochGota · 30/07/2022 18:37

Forgot to add that I mostly use M&S Formula Absolute products, but am currently trying Boots No7 Protect and Perfect.

I’m enjoying doing dry body brushing ( just a long handled soft bath brush from Amazon ) before my initially cold, but warms up to lukewarm, shower.
Dr Michael Mosley recommends changing just one thing at a time ( on Radio 4 ) and mine is to start the day straight under the shower before in warms up, saves water too.

overthinkersanonnymus · 30/07/2022 19:00

I started a similar threat a week or so ago and one of the tips I've stuck to all week is keeping my hair clean. Like washed and dried every other day. I get away with looking a bit of a scruff of my hair is clean and styled a bit

JMAngel1 · 30/07/2022 19:07

I’m trying to psych myself up for colder showers - my DH swears by them. Says he feels so invigorated afterwards. Haven’t got there yet #wuss 😂

Using nice smelling bath/hair products. I bought some sukin showergel in Holland and Barrett the other day, lime and coconut and it smells gorgeous. Also using Lee Stafford coco loco hair products and love that too, plus my hair feels lovely.

A bath with Epsom salt and essential oils is always nice.

Exfoliating regularly- I have those scrubby gloves to use with showergel, and a foot pumice. And a pineapple face peel from Revolution.

Lots of moisturising- face masks, foot packs, plus nice creams, oils etc. I really like Garnier or Hada Labo sheet masks. I like Nuxe Huile Prodigiuese for body/hair. Plus always try to use flexitol heel balm to keep my feet nice. And always have toenails painted!

I try to look after my nails and find it a relaxing thing to do- I love my crystal nail file and use solar nail oil. Don't paint my nails very often but do buff them.

Try to keep my hair trimmed with no split ends as well. And look after my teeth really well- regular hygienist appointments included.

To me I feel better if I feel like I do all those things on a regular basis and stay 'maintained' as it were.

Mrcpy · 30/07/2022 19:16

Nice smelling things make me feel good! Perfumes, candles, diffusers…

FunkedUp · 30/07/2022 19:20

Using an exfoliating glove every other week (OH does my back for me) arms, thighs etc. Feel amazing after a good old scrub down of all the dead skin cells and a thorough rinse!

zeddybrek · 30/07/2022 19:31

Weekly epsom salt baths.
Face mask on whilst in the bath.
A really good foot exfoliator.
Body Shop peppermint foot cream daily before bed.
A cheaper perfume that I love to spritz on home days.
Hair serum on towel dried hair then roughly blow drying my hair upside down makes a huge difference.
Paolo Santo sticks.
Aveeno body moisturiser, nothing else makes my skin soft.

Best tip I got was put lotions and potions next to your bed. No matter how busy you are, it's likely you can find a few mins before sleeping.

catfunk · 30/07/2022 19:34

-Olaplex or the Superdrug dupe every couple of months
-My root touch up dye on repeat order on prime every 4 weeks
-Tret from tretonin world once a week atm
-LOADS of oil on my face on an evening - rosehip or keihls overnight one

  • just for men beard dye for my brows every couple of weeks
  • Soap in the shower instead of gel
  • Braun ipl
  • splashing out on a nice hand cream in a pump bottle to keep by the sink as it's the only way I bother to use it
catfunk · 30/07/2022 19:35

Oh and the Korea Italy exfoliating cloths from Amazon

KalaniM · 30/07/2022 20:42

I think a soak in a lavender bath with essential oil and body brushing, pumicing my feet and a face mask is a lovely thing. I love a cup of tea in the bath!

I love Neom handbalm and scented room spray just before bed.

Im surprised that a couple of you mentioned using retinol / tretinoin once a week. Is that actually enough to have an impact?

DonateBloodNCheckSmokeAlarms · 30/07/2022 22:38

I always feel on top of things once I've had my face threaded.
I use a urea footcream daily to stop dead skin building up in the first place.
It IS a lot of work, though, just to stay looking socially acceptable, never mind actively gorgeous!

DonateBloodNCheckSmokeAlarms · 30/07/2022 22:40

@zeddybrek I agree with leaving lotions by the bed.
I also keep my manicure set inside the drawer in the coffee table and try to do it whilst watching TV.
Also keep handcream by sink.
And footcream next to my socks.

Trinity69 · 30/07/2022 22:45

I dye my hair to get rid of greys and I love my skincare routine. I use Senegence products, which are expensive but completly amazing. My skin has never felt as good as it does now in my early 40's and it gives me 5 minutes to myself in the morning and evening.

MercuryOnTheRise · 30/07/2022 22:48

Nice bubblebath - nothing beats a G&T in the bath.
Perfume: Gucci Bloom, Cartier Panthere, J'Adore and there's a very nice cheapie from M&S called Midnight Velvet.
Neom lavender handcream by the bed, super rich Aveeno for my heels.
Handcream in the car
Need to start using moisturiser far more.
Nice underwear.

SelkieDreaming · 30/07/2022 22:54

For me it's less about products, more about exercise, getting out in nature, time alone and good quality sleep.
