what shoes/boots do you wear with smart trousers?

have tried some a bit like these but they looked wrong under trousers.

I usually wear boots with a heel with trousers. I always think boots or strappies.

I'm ashamed to say I bought a pair of M & S footglove shoes the other day for that very reason.

And they are really comfy. Quite flat, black, roundy toe.

God I sound ancient. I'm actually quite hot to trot.

Looking at your link gg, it's the open part of the shoe that makes it look wrong somehow and shorten the leg - I feel the same when I try to wear shoes and trousers. So ankle boots, with a bit of a heel, plus tend to be more comfortable too.

god they look awful here. But look really much better on! Im not a square, really I'm not!! Its the third ones at the top.

Clarks (oh can it get any squarer?) had some really nice 'trouser shoes' too.

Either boots with a heel or stilleto type shoes - never flatties or wedges. Thats probably just me though.

I have a pair similar to these from dpthese and they look good with trousers.

I like a flattie as I am tall and heels can make my trouser legs flap around my ankles if I'm not careful.

I am tall too - the key is to have trousers long enough. If you are wearing smart trousers it is unlikley you are embarking on a 10 mile hike so why wear ugly shoes?!
