Am off to a Michelin star restaurant tomorrow night with lovely DP and then some naice bars afterwards for cocktails 🍸. I usually go out dressed like an explosion in a Sue Ryder shop so have decided to try and be proper glamorous for one night.

Am a size 14 atm and want to get back to a 12 so not feeling at my best but the dress is actually really flattering. Medium length dark hair. Usually style is quite quirky (hate that word)/alternative, lots of vintage, dungarees, piercings.

Dress + shoes + necklace pics should hopefully be attached.

Would a black mani be too Morticia?! 😆

I don't like the necklace - a plain pendant better. What's the restaurant? Some are pretty casual despite the Michelin star!

I think the very plain, low necked black dress needs something large, colourful and dramatic. A plain pendant would just get lost.

I don't like the sandals at all but I really don't like heels and short dresses.

Izzabellasasperella · 29/07/2022 16:30

I like the dress and necklace. The shoes are not my style ( I'm a bit of a high heel boot girl ) but they suit the dress.
What colour is your bag? If not black I'd match my nail colour to it.

Shoes look good, and especially if spikes give you trouble.
With the plain overall picture the necklace is fine.
I would be very pleased to go out with my DW dressed as you are.

Bigwetdog · 29/07/2022 16:35

If you're usually alternative/quirky op what do you wear? I think this is fine but you should be yourself

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 29/07/2022 16:36

I wouldn’t wear the necklace in the restaurant. It’s a bit too much. Perhaps put it on in the cocktail bar afterwards.

WonderingWanda · 29/07/2022 16:46

I think you will look lovely op, chuckling away to myself at your 'explosion in a Sue Ruder shop' 😆Have a wonderful meal!

AreolaGrande · 29/07/2022 16:51

Am giggling away at the suggestion that my poor wee primark necklace is too gaudy for my fellow diners eyes 🤣

Last time I went out I wore a vintage 80s harem pants jumpsuit with sequinned shoulders and massive shoulder pads.

Someone fetch the smelling salts 🥴

The dress and shoes are nice. Think you need a different necklace!

KittyCatsby · 29/07/2022 17:01

Could you post a pic with the dress and the necklace on , but obscure your face for confidentiality . You will get better advice / opinions.

This sounds awesome!

Your chosen outfit is nice but very safe. Will you feel like YOU in it?

Tigofigo · 29/07/2022 17:08

I actually am pro necklace - yes the style is not "in" right now but you obviously love it and it will work with a v plain outfit so go for it.

AreolaGrande · 29/07/2022 17:15

Tig I couldn't be less interested in what's in right now.

Here is the necklace in all it's tacky glory 😍🤣 Won't be changing it or going without.

The necklace isn't that bad on actually! I mean it's not on trend right now but if you like it, wear it!

Deux · 29/07/2022 17:45

I think you’ll look fab. I like the necklace on you and it’ll draw attention to your amazing boobs. I think it’s important that you feel comfortable and “you”.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 29/07/2022 18:06

The dress and shoes are lovely and necklace looks fabulous on you. Change nothing and enjoy your night out!

I don't think I've ever considered whether jewellery was "in" or not.
