Bumpy, congested, rough-textured skin on chin

The skin of my face looks fine except for my chin! It's as described above (with some lovely sebaceous cysts too!) and I'm hoping for tips on how to fix it.

Currently, I cleanse (face wash) and moisturise (rosehip oil and Cetaphil) in the evening. In the morning I use vit c serum and spf moisturiser.

Im in my 40s. What I'm I doing wrong? Thank you!

Sounds like the pores are getting blocked. Something with salicylic acid or if you'd like a bit milder, lactic acid in, should help. I find zinc oxide very good for reducing inflammation so a cream with that in (zinc and castor oil can usually be found in the baby section) will treat any angry breakouts.

I think you need to add an acid exfoliant to your routine to get rid of dead skin cells and unblock your pores.

I use Clinique clarifying lotion 1.0. It’s a a very gentle exfoliant, I use it most mornings. My skin is dry and sensitive, but if yours isn’t you might benefit from a stronger acid exfoliant a couple of times a week.

Thanks both, my skin sounds like yours @SalviaOfficinalis

That area sounds hormonal. Have you got PCOS, I got Spironolactone and it changed my skin , not had a cyst since , used to get rock hard painful ones in my chin, I really sympathise. Think seeing a dermo is worth it! Good luck!

Yes, I do! And in the peri menopause zone. Will look into that, thank you!

Literally the only thing that worked for me was going to the doctors and getting a cream.

In terms of my routine, I used Dermalogica and it has really improved overall complexion.

La-Roche Posay is also really good!!!! Especially for sensitive skin

Could the rose hip oil be too rich? You could try the Dermatica acne treatment.
I have used it for the last 6 months for rosacea and my skin has never looked and felt so good. I have a referral code if you are interested. www.dermatica.co.uk/referrer/3LW935
