Anyone had a plain mole removed?

I have 2 moles on my face that I hate. They are not hard, or brown. They are the same colour as my skin and protrude a little, but also seem to be half embedded in my skin.

I HATE THEM, as they detract from an otherwise half decent face.

I always thought that I couldn't do anything about them, but am seeing more and more cosmetic mole removal etc. In the past people have said you have a spot on your face, or things like that, and personally I think it looks like I have a wart on my face. There are 2, but one annoys me the most as the other is covered by hair.

Has anyone had a similar mole removed? I would like to, but don't want to have a big scar on my face to replace the mole.

Depends where they are - they usually follow standard wrinkles now so they blend in

I had 2 moles removed exactly like this 20 odd years ago when I was 20, they have both since grown back which is a common thing. I want them removing again and am looking into Lazer removal as was done the first time round.

I have and it was a very simple procedure and the scars are barely noticeable.

If you have the type that can be shaved off there will be no noticeable scar at all. I have also had one removed that required stitches but again it was fine and only a slight scar that I don’t think about at all.

Are they definitely moles? I had a fleshy 'mole' looking skin tag that was wide and raised but still a lump on my face. Got fed up of it and scratched the skin with a file to break the skin, covered the skin surrounding it in vaseline, and then held undiluted apple cider vinegar on it on a cotton wool pad for about half an hour. It dried up into a scab within a day and fell off a week later, luckily no noticable scarring.

Now I don't recommend it because it could go wrong and instead of it being flat it could end up cratered or teh skin around could get damaged as apple cider vinegar is essentially a very strong acid.

It would be worth asking your GP, some can just freeze them off whilst you are there at little to no cost.

I had one removed by a GP years ago. It wasn't on my face but it kept catching on clothes so I think they took pity on me. They blasted it with some spray and over the next few days it withered away and fell off. There might be a more sophisticated procedure now! It did leave a scar and there are signs now of it starting to grow back but it's nothing like as noticeable.

I've had loads of moles removed from my facem back and legs as suspicious. Im about to get another one lasered off my face, the only scar I have is the one on my leg which they removed with a melon scoop type thing and the scar went really wide, about half an inch because the skin on the front of the shin is thin.

Op I had a mole removed in my arm for medical reasons and the scar is huge, like 3 times bigger than the mole was as they need to cut more away to get the bit within the skin out x

A flat scar would be easily covered with concealer.

It's preferable to something protruding from your face imho.

I’ve had fairly big brown moles removed. The scars were awful at first but a year later I can’t see a thing. Worth every penny. Use dermatix scar healing cream.. I’ve used this for other scars and it’s great.
in your position I wouldn’t hesitate to get them removed

I had three raised moles on my face removed by a private skin clinic. They had got bigger and I was worried I'd end up looking like Nanny McPhee!

They inject a local anaesthetic and use a scalpel to shave the mole flat. Healed within a couple of weeks and scars are hardly noticeable.

Would recommend going to a private dermatologist if you can afford it. Cost a few hundred pounds.

I had one removed by laser about 4 months ago. It was by the side of one nostril
It was great.. healed in a few days.. no visible scar.

I've had freezing which was good but at my GP many years ago, unsure if they would do now for 'vanity' reasons. The freezing was for skin tags and a couple of moles.

I have also had laser removal, on my face, it was like burning off. Couple of wart type clear ones and small skin tags. They scabbed and fell off. Sorry can't remember the correct term.

The freezing was least painful. I was warned that I may lose skin pigment with the laser and I did. However I'm still happy and can use concealer or foundation. No one has ever commented and I barely notice. Ten years on I've not had any regrowth.

Im happy with the results from both.

If your GP won't do it find a reputable salon or specialist.
