Has anyone managed to get rid of/reduce natural dark under eyes?

I have naturally dark under eyes and being pale means they show up even more. They are awful and look like iv been punched. I hate being seen with no makeup on as I look so bad.

has anyone managed to reduce theirs? I’m pretty desperate!

@Brawoe1

Re supplements, it’s most likely to be one of the following (or a combo) due to
timings:

Electrolytes am and pm (esp potassium and magnesium)
Methylated b complex
Extra thiamine b1
Extra riboflavin b2
L carnitine
Creatine
Alpha Linoic Acid
PQQ
NAD+
NMN
Tru-niagen
D-ribose
Glutathione
Reservatrol
Pterostilbene
Acai extract
Melatonin

DHEA

Am also on (but don’t suspect a link)
prenatals with methylfolate
DHA/omegas
Methylfolate high strength
Ubiquinol 600mg (300 am and pm)
Vit D, k2, B12, NAC, Ashwaganda, Maca
Messima, Vitex, Probiotics (optibac brand)
Iodine, Levothyroxine (thyroid meds), Evening primrose (follicular phase)

Infertility is expensive!

Brawoe1 · 25/07/2022 16:50

@Phrenologistsfinger wow what a list! Where do you get yourAshwaganda from? I have a chewable one and it makes me retch but you have to be careful to get a decent one!

Thanks, I’m 40, childless and on round 4 of IVF so covering every base and then some! My fertility nutritionist was impressed at how comprehensive the list was (read a lot of studies) but I want to try everything.

My Ashwaganda is an organic one from the vitabright brand. I know it’s doing something because when I started taking it for ttc my period pain went, then when I ran out of it, the pain restarted.

Phrenologistsfinger · 25/07/2022 09:46

yes! Nutrients/supplements did it for me! Had them all my life, apparently genetic in my family. Am on a very comprehensive supplement regime for IVF and they have gone! Bags still there but skin is a normal colour! Not exactly sure what supplement but either it’s antioxidants, b vits, electrolytes or mitochondria boosting stuff. Sorry I can’t pinpoint it better! But it is doable, quite a shock to me…

I am an acupuncturist that treats a lot of IVF patients and I see this a lot, acupuncture helps and the right supplements even more.

@PotatoFamily wow!! Thanks for sharing. I have a free consultation this week… they said they want to check I’m the right candidate for it first which is reassuring. Can’t wait!

I'm definitely going for this, my under eye is so red ! I caught a glimpse of myself on teams this morning and was horrified!!

lindyloo57 · 26/07/2022 18:26

I can't use concealer under the eyes or anywhere on my face, for some reason it always goes really dry looking , I do use eyecream and good skincare, I have had my makeup done at the channel store and bareminerals store, but when I get home 2 /3 hours later it looks the same , so now I never use it.

Bananaman123 · 26/07/2022 19:18

Normally wear glasses that helps to hide, don’t like wearing makeup much. If I do wear makeup I use a peach colour corrector rather than concealer and that really helps.

Justonethingi · 02/08/2022 16:03

@PotatoFamily how is it looking now? I bit the bullet and had it done. I can’t notice a difference really… the purple is more sort of shaded/blended than looking like panda eyes…. I haven’t bruised although one side is slightly swollen (I can only see that when I look down). The doctor said it will keep improving over 2 weeks and I’m going to take another photo to compare in a few days but at the moment I haven’t seen an improvement, so I’m really hoping it will happen gradually!

Lndnmummy · 02/08/2022 18:17

@PotatoFamily yours look amazing. If anyone can recommend a practitioner in London I'd really appreciate it.

glgres · 02/08/2022 18:22

PotatoFamily · 25/07/2022 09:07

@Brawoe1 i wouldn’t say it was a shocking difference but I no longer needed layers of concealer, I looked fresh and awake, in photos I looked younger. At £250 for a year, I think it was a bargain, and it didn’t hurt at all.

I've been thinking about having this done. Can I ask if there was any bruising afterwards or anything like that? Also how long it takes?

BettyOBarley · 02/08/2022 18:25

I have horrendous dark circles, my whole eye area looks grey.. (hereditary I think) the only thing that seems to work for me is when my face is tanned!

I also use the Revolution Conceal & Define concealer, I find it one of the better ones I've used.

glgres · 02/08/2022 18:25

Also did you need a top up @PotatoFamily

PotatoFamily · 02/08/2022 22:24

@Justonethingi it takes mine a week to settle, drink absolutely loads of water! I’m a week out today. Photo below is a week before with makeup, and yesterday with makeup. No filters either.

@glgres no visible bruising on me but I can feel it when I put moisturiser on etc.
No top ups needed but I guess you can have them, lasted 8-9 months last time. I just woke up one day and looked exhausted again 🤣

Has anyone managed to get rid of/reduce natural dark under eyes?
Decidualcast · 02/08/2022 22:25

Agree tear trough filler. I have deep set eyes, and so shadows were more prominent. Something to do with how light is reflected. Anyway, fillers were amazing. Made me look fresher. I think I was over-filled TBH, but I’ll k ow to make sure they use less.

Justonethingi · 03/08/2022 01:15

@PotatoFamily thanks. One under eye still swollen a bit and it has hurt taking off make up this evening a bit… I’m hoping that’s just due to the ‘trauma’ so to speak!

@Decidualcast how long until you saw a difference? I’m under whelmed to be honest!

KalaniM · 03/08/2022 12:56

I’m frightened of getting tear trough filler. Isn’t it potentially dangerous because it can migrate to the eyes?

glgres · 04/08/2022 11:59

Thanks @PotatoFamily

I'd like to know as I've read on here about people having to sign disclaimers before the treatment- I don't know if that's standard.
It's also a lot more expensive than other filler procedures, and I wonder if that's because of some difficulty involved or the type of filler used.

Decidualcast · 04/08/2022 18:49

@Justonethingi after the swelling wore down, effect was immediate. I think the Dr over-filled TBH, but once it wore down, it looked great. No shadows for months.

Justonethingi · 04/08/2022 19:02

@Decidualcast how long did the swelling to go down? I can see areas where it is if I stand to the side in the light? Sort of white area? The doctor said that was fine as I’m only 3 days after plus I’m still sore to touch the entrance site. Maybe I’ll never feel confident without make up!!

Decidualcast · 04/08/2022 22:13

@Justonethingi I’d say two weeks to really settle. There wasn’t much swelling TBH, but product needed to settle to see the full effect. Have you noticed a (positive) difference?

Justonethingi · 05/08/2022 07:35

@Decidualcast id say minor difference not what I have seen in the before and after photos? Maybe it’s because mine is purely shadow as apposed to physical bags that needed filling maybe? Maybe my expectations were too high probably. I’ll pass my real judgment when iv hit the 2 week mark!

Ridingthegravytrain · 05/08/2022 07:40

You could try an elimination diet. You don't need to be hugely allergic to something to get these circles. My child gets them, and a small amount of knuckle eczema if they have too much dairy or gluten
