Outfit for a 60th Wedding Anniversary lunch

Struggling with this but probably overthinking.
In laws are having a lunch at a golf and country club to celebrate their diamond wedding.
I plan on an animal print summer dress, think Dd 24 is wearing a dress as well. Not sure if animal print is ott.
Dh doesn't want to wear a suit so I suggested chinos, shirt and jacket but it's going to be 25 c. Ds 19 I've had to buy him navy chinos to wear with a shirt as he's a students so lives in causal clothing. Both males don't want to wear a tie!
Help, back storey is Dh doesn't even want to go🙈.

It's lunch. So dresses, animal print or otherwise will be fine. Animal print is not considered OTT these days.
It's DH's family so he'll know what is OK to wear with them. You can check to see if the club has dress restrictions - eg no trainers/jeans- but otherwise a shirt and chinos should be OK for the men. I wouldn't have thought that a tie was necessary, certainly no one in my family would wear a tie for anything other than a wedding or funeral, or maybe an interview. Most places you can get away with chinos or dark jeans and a smart ( ironed) shirt. DH and DS27 both have a linen jacket to wear for smarter occasions but frankly they get very little wear. If you want to buy something, I noticed that Next have quite a good range for smart/casual.
I think more important is groomed hair and beard, get them to go to the barber just before.
Why doesn't DH want to go?

Thanks, this is exactly what I was thinking. Dh has a odd relationship with his parents, they don’t communicate well as a family. Plus his mother has been OOT about the whole thing. It started when they asked our opinion re the hotel and we highlighted it didn’t have great reviews. But that was seemingly the wrong thing to say!
I will plaster on a smile and shimmy in there in my leopard print😂

I’d play it safe with a floral tbh, if the in laws are a moody lot don’t give them the slightest opportunity to wrinkle their noses.
