Breastfeeding

New mum and feel like I have no idea how to dress for breastfeeding!

All the breastfeeding clothes I've looked at online are either really expensive or frumpy or both. Can anyone recommend any good online shops to browse?

Are there any tricks I'm missing on how to wear the clothes I've currently got? Thanks to the weather and sore c section wound I've been wearing lots of smock dresses around the house. Comfy but not dignified to feed in!

Can anyone recommend any influencers/instagrammers that focus on breastfeeding fashion for some inspiration?

Just wear a stretchy vest top under things. Pull your top up and the the vest down. If you have dresses where you pull your boob over the top and want something over your boob you can drape a muslin or get a stretchy vest that you cut crop top length that you can pull up when you pull your dress down.

I liked some of the smallshow stuff off Amazon. My favourite was jojo maman bebe but it was a bit expensive for a full wardrobe.

I’d recommend you join the Facebook group Can I Breastfeed in it? There are loads of recommendations on there. Shops like New Look, Next and M&S have a lot of options at the moment. I’d also recommend B shirts. I live in them!

H&m do decent nursing vests. Then just a light scarf/muslin if you fancy being discreet. They do other nursing clothes too for reasonable prices.

And then I had some dressess with overlapping panels (and slits) although I can't remember where from.

This whole vest under a dress/top thing never worked for me, I'm not one for oversized/baggy clothes which is the only way I see it as viable.

There's a really good Facebook group called Can I breastfeed in it. Mum's share outfits, usually from the high street, they have found breastfeeding friendly. It may be worth a look for you.

I just got dressed from asos that have partial or full front buttons down the front. There are loads.

I just wear normal tops and lift up. Baby and high waist jeans or trousers cover most of gap. If you don't fancy that I agree with the vest top idea, I think a lot of special breastfeeding stuff is an absolute rip off.

Thank you everyone - the Facebook group is really helpful x
