Looking for a swimsuit with capri-length swim leggings? Does this exist?

Hi, I am going on holiday soon but very, very uncomfortable with the swimming costume side of things. I am 5' 2, size 14 and have a tummy and big thighs I would like to conceal with something well fitting so I can be confident and enjoy swimming and being able to relax on hols.

I have seen some very flimsy looking swim leggings on Amazon, but looking for something sturdy and of decent quality. I don't mind arms being exposed, its more tummy control (nice to have) and midi-length swim leggings. Can anyone help?

I would really consider what your motivation is here. If you’re looking for one of these to conceal , so people don’t look at you, I think it will have the opposite effect! It would be very unusual to see someone wearing something like this in a pool/beach whereas people of all shapes and sizes wear swimming costumes so don’t garner a second glance. At a size 14 you’re very average (for want of a better word!).

This is very true op.

I iunderstand the motivation, though, as if you feel more comfortable in something slightly more covered up, you'll be happier. I'm more like an 18, and still looking for something to wear. The board shorts or loose tops are not as good for swimming in from what I read, and need additional bikini bottoms and swim bras underneath, though some tops come with them built in. Lands End reviews are not great for the shorts with built in bikinis so far. ModLi/Calypsa seem to sell separate bikini bottoms. Presumably the issue is more that there is a seam in the shorts. I'd like to find shorts that aren't so long that people would look at me oddly, that are still good for swimming, but that would come to mid or upper thigh. And a sleeveless but not strappy vest top (ie. like a swimming costume but a tiny bit more coverage), tight enough that you can still swim in it without loads of extra fabric to cling, but also long enough that you can lift your arms up. And that seems to be a hard combination to find!!

Swimsuits stick to every lump and bump when wet. So id avoid covering up with wet clingy fabric as much as possibly.

Plain black swimsuit with tummy control and good busy support and a fabulous mesh kaftan or beach dress which is looser will look fab.

I agree all these cover up outfits attract attention. In a standard swimsuit as an average dress size noone will give you a second look.
