I'm moving from a uniformed role to office next month, but my wardrobe is mainly leisure wear. I have a few nice Joe Brown dresses, but that's it. And I don't have many nice work shoes either.

I'm a size 20 (dropped from a 24 and still going down). Mastectomy so necklines are iffy, can do wraps if I wear a vest underneath. Weight very much on my tummy and hips, so prefer dresses or tunics. And I just cannot abide heels as have pf in both feet 😑

I tend to shop at Simplybe, asos and have some lovely neverfullydressed dresses (mainly summery though)

I'm looking for a nice 10 day capsule wardrobe so I can have 1 weeks washed and ready IYSWIM?

I'm just so not used to dressing nicely apart from going out. And I don't want to be super spendy either. Max £100 per dress/outfit and £50 shoes.

Please can anyone help me? Any suggestions welcome. Smile

I’m not sure about shoes, but M&S have a choice of well priced ones. Ditto dresses. Look for tiered ones. Go for flats or small heel. Try on at home and then return what you don’t want. Plenty of trousers and decent shirts too. It’s an easy solution to start with snd hope you enjoy your new job.

Have you seen how people dress in your new office? Things have become a lot more casual in the past couple of years so maybe worth testing the water before you spend?

Definitely formal office wear as its emergency services. It's SLT, so smart and not casual.

I'll pop into marks after work and have a look tomorrow

Look online. Loads more choice. Some sutures don’t stock the best styles. Get it delivered to home and try on in your own time. It really is easier and returns can be collected from home too.

Few work places require suits these days. A decent dress or two, or three, skirts or trousers and blouses/ shirts and cardigan over or jacket. In winter a light gauge wool top snd trousers.skirt. Keep trousers and skirt basic and add tops according to season.

Sutures??? Shops! Have a look at these from M&S. All come in a 20 and can be matched with jacket or cardigan.

I’ve just bought this from La Redoute. I’m a size 18 and work in a similar sector (have worked in the blue light sector before).
It’s only cheap but it falls beautifully on me. It’s my current favourite work dress. There are quite a few in similar styles on there.

Also these. I think the days of a close fitted office dress are over. Difficult to find now. You cannot go wrong with black ankle grazers with shirts either. The shirt is a bit boring but works for a more formal office. There are more lively colours available.
