Does anyone recommend the moisture surge & hydrating jelly?

They seem to have pretty good reviews online.

I use the moisture surge night mask and it's incredible

Ginfilledcats · 19/07/2022 20:52

I swear by the moisture surge, just the normal one. Use it twice a day, you don’t need much. It’s so hydrating, refreshing and goes in so we’ll not leaving you feel greasy. It’s amazing

Ontomatopea · 19/07/2022 21:49

I can't stand the moisture surge it feels horrible on my skin. Maybe get a small size in case you don't get on with it.

scatteredglitter · 20/07/2022 08:03

I got some moisture surge as part off a beauty box recently and very impressed with it. Love the light feel but skin feels moisturised. However feel my skin needs a little more than just MD alone at this stage

ColouringPencils · 20/07/2022 08:07

Is it any good for skin prone to spots?

Ginfilledcats · 20/07/2022 08:49

Clinique are quite good At giving you sample pots, if you go to boots or John Lewis I’m sure they would help

LookdeepintotheParka · 20/07/2022 10:13

Yeah I got a sample of the moisture surge when buying some mascara from the Clinique counter. I love the texture of it - very cooling and perfect for my slightly oily, irritable perimenopause skin! I just use a serum underneath for days when I need a little bit more moisture. I've bought the full size - JL or Boots usually have a deal on it.

I would say no but thats only based on my experience with my sensitive acne prone skin

bestbeforedateexpired · 20/07/2022 11:28

When I could afford it, I used to swear by Clinique Moisture Surge. It hydrated without being greasy and causing spots. I have now moved to Neutrogena Hrdroboost water Gel and the Night mask. Often on special offer at Boots and half the price of Clinique anyway. It is cooling and refreshing and provides hydration in a similar way to the Clinique gel. I apply the Clinique Even Better Refresh foundation over the top.

Just checking in case you have any better recommendations @Ontomatopea! My skin sounds like yours, over sensitive and prone to acne. The only moisturiser that doesn't seem to lead to breakouts is Nivea Soft...

Ontomatopea · 20/07/2022 22:38

I'm using avene hydrance aqua gel at the moment, been a month with no adverse effects so far.

Flackattack · 20/07/2022 22:47

I have the Aldi version of moisture surge and can’t tell the difference

learieonthewildmoor · 21/07/2022 05:36

Clinique is great for skin prone to spots; the hydrating jelly is designed for oily skin.

anotherbrewplease · 21/07/2022 05:58

@Flackattack could you please tell me the name of the Aldi dupe? Thank you.

Lauren137 · 21/07/2022 19:17

I’ve used moisture surge previously and really liked it but found by the end of the tub the texture changed and became like jelly! Great dupe is the Neutrogena hydro boost sleeping mask or simple water boost 😊 much cheaper!

TheOGCCL · 22/07/2022 07:59

I like the moisture surge, I have very spot prone skin and found it light and non clogging. As PP said it’s too light for me now but was good in my thirties. Also costs a bit more than I want to pay and I seem to recall it’s fragranced which I always hate as it’s unnecessary and can cause trouble for some skin types.

I personally didn’t find the Neutrogena one a very good dupe. Didn’t feel it was doing much at all.

EveParker22 · 26/07/2022 12:12

I actually don't like it! It felt really bad on my skin.

As someone else said, the Neutrogena one is amazing!!! Plus so much cheaper.
