My legs are never clear
Shaved this morning and it makes no difference if I wax or shave.

Getting them professionally waxed is the answer

cheaas · 19/07/2022 20:51

I've had them professionally done and it's still the same
Red dots that look more inflamed and angry

Ameliorate cream is excellent

Mybeautifulfriend22 · 19/07/2022 20:54

Could it be what’s known as strawberry skin? Has a ‘proper name’

the link is some creams that may help with that.

I second Ameliorate cream. It’s very good.

MeridianGrey · 19/07/2022 21:12

My skin has always looked like that, is it a problem?

SpaceJamtart · 19/07/2022 21:13

Not particularly helpful but mine goes away when i have a bit of a tan

stayathomer · 19/07/2022 21:16

My skin has always looked like this too and there’s a really long thread on it here somewhere with people saying it’s to do with waxing or shaving or not exfoliating etc. I have always always had it no matter how I’ve worked on them and the only problem is that obviously your legs don’t look like most legs you see in magazines etc but after being paranoid for so long I realised I’m the only one who cares!!!!

PinkPhlox · 19/07/2022 21:29

It's keratosis pilaris, I have it too.

I have to exfoliate my legs at least every other day minimum. And shave them right after. I then use Avene XeraCalm to moisturise.

I have only recently got on top of it with this routine! First time in my life.

I use a salt scrub type exfoliator.

APurpleSquirrel · 19/07/2022 21:32

I have this! I always assumed it's because I'm very pale but have dark hair? Got the point of not caring now tbh.

PriamFarrl · 19/07/2022 21:35

I always had this.
I’ve now changed to Estrid razors (hit me up for a refer a friend code), daily shaving, salt scrub a couple of times a week, and body butter.

IdiotCreatures · 19/07/2022 21:37

From that picture, that is really something I would not be worried about...

JustALittleHelpPlease · 19/07/2022 21:38

Exfoliate, shave, moisturise really regularly. It takes a while but it does go Smile

PurpleSneakers · 20/07/2022 08:14

I have had something similar and I read on MN - if shaving, instead of shaving in an upwards direction, shave in the opposite direction ie downwards - viola - no more red bumps for me.

IllDoItButOnlyForTheAttention · 20/07/2022 12:05

I've had this since forever. The first time I was aware of it was at primary school, when a friend asked me why I had spotty legs. It was after that that I stopped ever wearing shorts or skirts without tights.

I've found I can improve it a lot by exfoliating like hell and shaving. It doesn't go away completely, but it improves enough that I can wear a skirt that's knee-length or longer and not worry about showing a flash of skin. Sunlight does improve it too, as a PP mentioned.

I bought this recently and find it brilliant! I use it all over and my skin feels dead soft now.smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01CANFH4S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've heard body lotions with glycolic acid are good for that. However since I've been body brushing the hair follicles on my legs are much less visible.

noodlezoodle · 20/07/2022 15:03

If it's just pale skin and dark hair, laser is the answer (I use Lumea). I used to get this but it was smooth, I don't have KP.

knackeredagain · 20/07/2022 15:05

I always thought it was dark hair/pail skin. I’ve always had it. I never get it on my arms though. Weird. Nothing makes a difference - I get it if I have a professional wax or shave them myself.
