Self care hamper (for myself)

I’m a parent carer and I’m fucking exhausted. I’m trying my best to look after my mental health but struggling a lot at the moment. Things are tough and I need a break.

Respite is impossible at the moment although I’m trying my best. I could use a spa day but no one to have my child.

I have a budget of about £100 to treat myself to some beauty things that will make me feel REALLY good. I want to feel a bit pampered.

what would your go-to suggestions be?!

That sounds like a brilliant idea !
I bought some Beauty Pie exfoliating socks off ebay, 7 days after using you start shedding skin and they apparently leave your feet baby soft, I’m really looking forward to using them then giving myself a cheery pedicure, I like a nice bright coral nail polish in the Summer.
I use a self tan on my body and face, I always look a bit more human with a bit of colour !
A nice towelling hair band to keep your hair back and a luxurious sheet mask, again ebay is good as lots of people selling off unwanted stuff from beauty boxes.
Home Bargains also has lots of good, branded stuff at discount prices and you could treat yourself to something like a hair mask. I bought a gin bar gift tin set in there for £8.99 which would make a nice addition.
I like Neutrogena hand cream and a nice, lightly coloured lip balm.
Below is a really good positive site, they also do a buddy box subscription service which might give you good ideas too.

Good luck 💐

I would do an olive oil and salt scrub for hands and feet. Also magnesium bath salts before bed. You definitely need essential oils in a diffuser or in the products to smell and make it feel spa like. Also don’t forget the cucumber/lemon water and herbal teas (pukka variety box?). Neil ‘sleep’ blend is my favourite. A few simple yoga warm ups like cat cow and neck rolls are also good for relaxing. Re skin care and products, I would do a look fantastic order where you can see all the reviews.

Do you have a bath? If you are able to take time when your child is in bed then Aromatherapy Associates bath oils are absolutely delightful. The Deep Relax one is superb.

(sorry if no bath/not possible to leave child)

Emma Hardie facial oil, not cheap but smells amazing and helps the skin look dewy

See which suppliers are doing those 'free gift' promotions. All those tiny bottles make me happy.

Get a mobile beautician to come to you? They often do massages as well as beauty treatments.

Set up the bathroom like a spa, there are YouTube videos of twinkly spa music. Dim the light if possible. I like to make a body scrub from salt/sugar and use absolutely loads of it, giant handfuls like they do at a spa. Then have a soak in the bath with a face mask. A hair mask is nice as well. Take a drink in with you and maybe some fancy chocolates, anything that makes you feel luxurious. Then a really rich moisturiser when you come out.
